i don't think that the service shutting down after 30 minutes on a brand new headset would be caused by battery life issues, although that was an early suspicion of mine

So I bought a bluetooth dongle for my PC and a new bluetooth headset because i was thinking that using a bluetooth headset as a mic would be much more comfortable than any of those bulky gaming headsets. the thing is - after a while it always just disappears from the audio devices and stops function...
