Basternae was what came around when Duris shut down,the same basic codebase but not quite a clone of Duris (different maps, race strengths, etc). BasternaeII that's around now is a totally different codebase (MagmaMUD).

Dornax helped me out a tremendous amount when I started playing here again, went out of his way to invite me to zones and help me with my quests and teach me things about the game that I'd either forgotten or differed from what I had gotten used to on other MUDs. And made me swallow my pride too man...
