I remember a lot of those names. I started playing in 93-94, but was just a little guy. I drooled when I saw Serro dual wielding those swords. The most fun I had is when I played a monk and got him to 50 when they rocked. 7d5 with 7 attacks and 30+ dam (I think this was 97-98?). Anyway, I log on onc...

Ok, I'm confused. How is it currently coded? Do necros solo'ing get any exp from their pets? Or is all of the exp gained on the kill? I currently don't group my pets, and have them flee out. Is that the best?

Necro pet bug?

I currently have two wraiths. When the tank wraith get's low in hps, he will try to heal himself. However, he must be doing a "cast 'heal undead' wraith" because he never actually heals the correct mob (the tank is always 2.wraith).

Why wouldn't he do a "cast 'heal undead' self"?

So the level of the animated mob, isn't affected by the level of the corpse at all? For example: animating a shadow from a level 20 corpse, will give (basically) the same strength shadow as animating from a level 25 corpse? Once the mob is big enough to be used in animating a shadow, then the size o...

Online Creation. It allows the areas people to create the areas in the test mud, and see them right away. No need to reboot to see the changes.

At least that is how it worked in a Circle Mud variant that I used to work on.

There are alot of old names here that I recognize. I played mostly Innova back in the day, but I also had a high level monk back when they kicked butt (can't remember the name). I probably had about 5 characters over level 40, but Innova was the only one that got to 50 (the monk was close). I just s...

I was there also, one healer (druid) was afk w/o saying so. Our main healer (Full Heal Cleric) needed to go afk mid-fight (and said so, but we assumed the other healer was there), hence no heals = death.

Most Open source enthusiasts I know don't say that Linux/Apache/whatever is perfect. They just say the open source model is better for developing quality software. As far as the coding goes, I'm sure your corpse is a container, and the light is inside the container, so the light can't escape. Is this realistic? No, and it sure would be nice if you could see where your corpse is.

How does one go about getting the area creation docs? I haven't seen them in a couple years, I think we had to have an idea and submit that to the gods, and then we'd get the docs, is that still the case?

I just enjoy Sojourn, and think it would be fun to play with the code. I have played with other code bases, but they just don't feel as familiar as Sojourn.

But I do agree, the code base wouldn't be that great without the players/areas.

Has GPL'ing the code base ever been discussed?
