Evil group composition doesn't require Dires to tank. If it ever comes down to that, it's time for the group to bail. Hence Dires are needed there for "melee" damage. Can they do anything else? Yes, do they need to? No.

I don't see how that differs all that much than what is implemented here. If it does a set amount it still favors the mob a lot since they have way more hps than any cold/fireshielded pc could ever get. Thus overall they'll take less damage while the pc overall will take more damage.

They already have scabbards, so why would you need sheaths? they do the same thing don't they? It's just that most people would prefer not to "waste" a slot for an item like this. I believe the item is also a container so if you want to "rp" it then you can remove the sheath and put it in there.
