paladins definitely needed guard to bring them in line with the anti's kick skill. anti's would totally own mobs by unmounting and then kicking their enemies to death with this extremely unbalanced skill. paladins are almost there - they just need another skill to match anti's sorcerous spell knowle...

kiryan, i'm not trying to say you're wrong, just that it doesn't make sense to bring along a ranger whose role is limited to single target damage while a rogue can do lots of other things besides superior melee capabilities (poisons, vital strike, trip, garrote, assassinate), like hold zone pop, cr,...

kiryan's idea to go straight archery won't work unless archery gets overhauled. if a ranger went zoning with a 40 damroll and +300 hp eq and focused on archery, they'd still be completely useless. their damage would still be less than that of a rogue, and they'd serve no other purpose. also, forced ...

i'm not sure if you guys even read my post, heh my suggestion would only give rogues the option of damaging shielded mobs. this would have very limited use similiar to that of kick for warriors. it wouldn't be used for luring or effective damage like archery. mostly it would be for fun and roleplay ...

reimplement range weapons for rogues?
i think it'd be fun if rogues could throw daggers again. however, put limitations on it wouldn't be as powerful or useful as archery. these would be: 1. damage far less than archery 2. cannot be thrown into the next room 3. far less accurate than archery 4. daggers dice and hit/dam lower than arrows...

i think invoker procs should be left in, they aren't all that common and do add some flavor to the most boring class in the game. they're pretty much a zone only class, which is sort of lame but necessary given some of the newer zones out there. the procs just give them slight happiness when exping ...

rogues emerged with a lot more than just hide... your suggestion to make rangers evolve into an archery based class would pretty much give them the role of invokers in zones, ie. just sit back and shoot arrows and nothing else (except rangers would still die more because invokers wear a lot more hp)...

my original idea was primarily for hitall. this is a really powerful skill, and what i'm proposing would significantly increase ranger damage output in big fights. imagine using hitall every couple of rounds to land an extra 12-20 attacks split among the mobs with your weapons proc'ing. just throwing this out for consideration for whatever ranger fixes are planned, i don't know if these have already been mentioned. i think it'd be fun if rangers had hitall like the rest of the warrior classes. except since they are so proficient in dual wield, they could land two attacks per target...
