Re: Best way to learn Unix OS
You said Unix, not Linux, so get yourself Solaris (http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/opensolaris/get.jsp).
What you do with it depends whether you want to learn as a developer or a sysadmin. In any case, use the command line, not the GUI. Read all the man pages.

Re: Alignment quest
All four have been found/quested. This tells me they're not that hard to find. It tells me that someone was told where to look and has passed the info on. I have no desire to run around the mud, asking every mob in sight about quests on the off chance that they may be the start of one, it may be re...

Quests on this mud are so obscure - much more of a pain than xping.

I think eq should just degrade over time, probalbly according to how much it is used. So armor ac would increase gradualy as you wear it in fights. Descriptions should change, e.g. slightly worn pair of leggings, a battered pair of leggings, a badly damaged pair of leggings. Repair houldn't be an op...

Spell quests are fundamentaly broken. Take ress quest: the starting mob sounds like a quest mob, but gives you no clue what quest. You first have to happen on that mob, find out it's a quest mob, then do the quest until you find out what it's for. Could take you months for the one quest - shame if i...

GCD lost in Scardale
My fumble-fingered necro friend lost a glowing crimson dagger, probably in the temple in Scardale. Not sure exactly when, but in the last 2-3 days.
If you found it, return would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I don't mean super no-weight bags, just a green bag, a blue bag, a red bag (be more imaginative if you like) so I can store all items of one type (potions, scrolls) in a unique bag. Even cooler would be bags/containers named as "p...

Lumpy beds at WD inn
I can't get a decent nights sleep. When I log a char for over a mud day, rented at the inn, it doesn't regain full moves (let alone hp).
Healing I can understand not being complete, could take more than a day that, but moves? I didn't get out of bed for 24 hours! No way should I still be tired.

Mud Mail not deleted with char
I rolled a new char recently (Oct 19) and found 2 mud mails from Oct 5 and 6 already there. Presumably sent to someone who had the same name and later deleted the char.
Could save someone embarassment if mail were cleared when a char is deleted.
