Yeah Gormal... Unfortunately I've developed a 'speed' reading function where I only truly retain about 50% of what passes in front of me... :( But I agree... the ghost function would be the best option. The flip side is like Grundar mentioned... I've got six or seven lvl 4-19 characters that 'wait' ...

That's when you give her a little something in her bottle. whistle. *grin* nah, she's willing, just slow to plunge headfirst into new games. Then theres the issue of her always being tired (long hours, 2yr old, aggravating husband, etc.) She's played Baldur's Gate w/ me on the PC networked, DnD, BG...

not saying I do it, or condone it, but a little nip off grandpa's medicine bottle, right into baby's bottle should get you through those tia trips without so much as a whimper... Also get ya 5-10 w/ time off for good behavior. On the 'real' side of things... I quit gaming in 2000 except for console ...

map repository?
I know that many folks have put in long hours creating maps, and I was wondering if these files are ever shared? I've never used the mapping feature before, but thought I'd give it a try... With my RL responibilities, I doubt that I'll 'EVER' be able to map out 250 zones, but it'd be cool to be able...

Rares and Restrings - lvl specific
Just brainstorming a bit... How about rares and/or restrings for anyone? For instance, any mob, at any given time has a potential to drop a rare item that is level specific for the person killing the mob or the lowest lvl member of a group. I was talking about this with another member of the mud and...

If it could be implemented easily, I say why not... Make it so that the character's bank account is !rent too if you think twinking / abusing would take place. We 'ALL' have idle time on the mud where we're waiting for something/someone at some point or another. Lets use that time to have a few newb...

...If I can find time to log in to zone I can find time to log in to EXP? That's just stupid. I could. But I wouldn't because I don't seek out sitting watching my character kill duergar scouts for hours on end. The fun of zoning stimulates conversation and antics more than exping I find... Didn't g...

Re: drow grouping party
So let a few of the helpers multi a helper character. it could even be a level 19 npc that a helper could control, it could be used just like a regular character but gain no exp. Awesome idea... How about a helper char... gains no exp, gains no level, special set of rules for those helpers though.....

What makes this game fun? Typing eq or look me to see what gear you've got? Looking in your super bag/sack/hole etc. to see how much more you've got? Or is it the people? If you can find time to log in now and zone, then you can find time to log in and group with folks for exp. Ok... How about this ...

drow grouping party
Latreg - I came across the drow grouping party thread here after thinking this might help the newb problem of the mud... Seemed like a good idea, but also seems like it would make it a bit harder for new players to get into the mud if they have to play an evil. My goal was to 'be' in Scardale as sor...

S... I think that special books with a high page count will be a hot commodity. I'm envisioning an 'Enchanted Trapper Keeper' Add pages as necessary ;) On a more serious note, this is all very interesting to see... I'm just recently returning to the mud after a 5 or 6 year hiatus (really don't reme...

Instead of sitting around waiting...
Instead of sitting around with your main character, waiting for something to happen, go roll a new character, try something you haven't been before... A shaman, or a bard, or an illusionist if you've only been a warrior, or an A-P. And go wait in Scardale. Wait for a newbie to log-in, a true newbie ...

Want to retain newbies? Just a thought...
What made you stay as a newbie way back when? The abillity to group with 'like minded' folks. If I log on and see 50 folks playing, and 47 of them are lvl 50, then there is a 31 Human Druid, an 18 Troll Warrior, and a 22 Illithid rounding out the house. I've got: A - no one to talk to B - no one to ...

Elemental Timer
was wondering if anyone out there has an elemental timer they'd share? I've got one that a friend wrote for me, but it had been a while since he had made one and is a bit buggy. any help would be greatly appreciated...
