I'm totally against allowing someone to individually dispel displace at will, since the only real drawback involves the way the spell fades over time. It would make it way overpowered. Firstly, part of the bonus of being in a group is inherent to the group... more people = safer = kill stuff faster. But take those bonuses, plus what, 200% exp bonus with a large group, and theres no reason to solo or hell, even pay attention doing exp anymore. You think its bad now with lvl 50 noob...

Sounds like a REALLY neat idea. Could get more exp and get similar things like "feats" from 3rd edition. Weapon spec, extend spell, maximize spell, etc. Only they would all be automatic. All level one mages/casters start with 3-4 slots instead of one. Magic missiles throw 2 missiles a round at level one until level 9 instead of 1 till 6. Most illithid skills are based on projection though, IE imposing your will on others, rather than reception. Being able to project a thought or, heck, mindblast, is the same as shouting in crowded room, but being able to read minds is like trying to hear a whispered conversation on the opposite side...

Yea, true... could have different area spells have different effects this way too. Say: Spell1 does high damage to the target and much less damage to 1 adjacent in each direction. Can have different versions of this taper differently ie 2 range splash damage, 3 range... equal damage, tapering damage...

I don't buy that "RP to leave a trap" stuff, thats just an excuse for jerks to PK in a non-PK mud. Agree about the Pally groups, especially when they load in newbie areas. (Faerie forest east of TP, anyone?) Beshaba priestesses aren't aggro anymore, but I think they were way worse than the pally gro...

I pretty much agree with what Sylvos said. Don't bother giving your pets good eq, but if you stumble on decent stuff while wandering around it doesn't hurt to stock up. (IE tiny silver rings from wd, Bloodstone eq). I found up before shadows I tanked better than my pets. For wights I would give them...

Power Word Kill. This spell has appear to be broken or effectively useless in or outside of the arena. I personally cannot remember seeing it ever work once. Perhaps it has, but I seriously don't remember. I do not scribe this spell. I used it to pwk the camels that followed Zog, way back when. UBER!

Dont know if this is the right place to say it...but just to limit the amount of items in the game, and add value to them again, why not make each item a rare load on each mob every boot. Say a mob has 3 or 4 items on him now...give him a chance to load 1 or 2, or none? Would make zones really fun ...

I love my bard, but I have to admit I think the phantom accompany would be way too powerful. Even at lvl 40, my bard accompanied gets 150 hps per verse of song of healing, I think a solo bard being able to do that would be pretty overpowering.
