Evil is whatever the beholder views it to be. I was far from knocking you guys. My experience with evil is, from the sound of it, quite different. Like I said.. More power to you guys. Personally, I prefer to run a group, or play in a group that, while having some arguments or bickering, gets along....

Oh, the party I DM for is hardly all Lawful Good. Currently they have a CN, CG, LN, LG, and N. It's... interesting. My last game had more of a lawful mix, but that is a rarity. I will always stand by my viewpoint that it takes a very special person to play an evil in a game effectively. I've allowed...

Yeah, you shouldn't get a 'zone state restore'... Just pop the corpses out, so they can start over. CR'ing is a bitch, and if you screw up and end up needing to do it - so be it. If, however, you don't spank, but the mud crashes, and people invariably log in and die one by one... How is that their f...

I didn't write this zone, but by the looks of how it was done, and having been to the zone several times I'd say that it was intended that this zone would not be an easy zone to CR or recover from. I also feel that this lack of easy CR and/or recovery factors into the insane rewards the zone has. A...

Your armor class is wrong: Your dex bonus is 1, not 2. You didn't include your armor or shield bonus on the standard line. Also, a suggestion - a light steel shield is a waste. Get a heavy steel or wooden shield. The AC bump is good (heavy is 2 ac, light is 1) Your ac should read: Standard: 16 (10/b...

I'm with Ifin here. The hands-off approach has really turned me off to the game. I'll lump this in with it also: the lack of information being given to the playerbase, or the ever annoying 'I am not telling' (and thinking it's some kind of cute comment) just irritates me (I only speak for me here, b...

Here's my question... If we're trying to show the system off, why are so many picking an evil alignment? Don't we want to show how a party can complement each other, rather than destroy each other? I think I am gonna bow out - this is Mori's game, and I won't bitch about it, but mixing evil alignmen...

Class skills are bought on a '1 for 1' basis, and can have a maximum rank of [Level + 3]. Skills that are not class, are referred to as 'Cross-Class'. They are bought on a '2 for 1' basis (1 skill point buys a half-rank). These skills can only go up to *half* a class skill. Example (assuming first l...

Ah. I will pass then. Those rules make an ECL race even less useful, IMO. I'll stick to human, I guess. Just to clarify what Mori is referring to... First and foremost, an ECL race means it's a 'stronger than your average' race. This means that their ECL (effective character level) is bumped up by a...

To clear up confusion here, about saving throws: The three types (Fortitude, Reflex, Will), are all affected by a stat (con, dex, and wis respectively). However, as with everything (or nearly) in 3.5, there is always some 'base' it works from. Skills have ranks, attacks have a base attack bonus, and...

First and foremost.. Are you planning on wearing heavy armor, like full plate? If so, a 14 dex is overkill. Armor has a maximum dexterity bonus, and full plate has a 1. In fact I believe ALL (non-mithral.. and mithral is damned rare) heavy armor is 0 or 1. A 12 dex would be sufficient, unless you we...

Arilin, I assume you are referring to point buy on stats? Here's a good chart, and how much each point costs: Stat Cost -------------- 8 0 9 1 10 2 11 3 12 4 13 5 14 6 15 8 16 10 17 13 18 16 All racial modifiers are applied AFTER you buy your base stats. no i havent read it at all (i am not a tabletop gamer at all and have no idea what any books say) but you did repeat what i said :) by having equivalent stats in one area, others will be lower .. *nod me* and yes playerbase be damned leave races separate(unless they are OC) :) Actually, you're read...

Ambar... given your response, I don't think you have read 3.5 very well. The 3.5 system gives some rather unique perspectives to races in general. A dwarf tank would have an average strength - equal to an elf in fact. The difference is his con would be higher. I really think the 'playerbase be damne...

If you're looking to play over the net, this is the best method I have found - it costs a little bit of money for the licenses, but it works fabulous.

Oh, if you want to try another DND game Thilindel try playing Pool of Radiance for the PC, think it came out like 2 years ago. With all the talk about PC gaming with D&D... What are you currently playing on tabletop (if you play tabletop)? My group just started up the Shackled City adventure path. I started running it 4-5 weeks ago now, and have actually managed to get my PC's interested enough to start up a wiki site w...

The power curve can be attributed as much to it being set in Eberron as to bad planning. I'd more attribute it to extremely poor planning on Turbine's part, than the world. I've run several Eberron tabletop games, and they were very good games indeed. My players love the world. Eberron is built in ...

Grappling, straight out of 3.5 rules. REAL mounted combat. Elevation fighting - If one party has the high ground, it gets a bonus to hit. This could be negated through sheer weight of numbers versus a mob, weight/height ratios, etc. ECL races - Aasimar, Tiefling, etc. Clerics getting the ability to ...
