Kiryan has some very valid points. The fear of the loosing equipment I think keeps people from exploring certain areas, to a certain point anyway. It's not a perfect system but a necessary one. As a second thought, here in NY anyway, who ever has the child is the one who usually wins. It is viewed that it would be too disruptive to remove the child and that parent wants the child the most etc etc
