Its doable with a little luck: Wait until one of the magic-allowable rooms has 0 or 1 dragons in it. Get everyone into the room and clear it. Now you have your beach-head. As the other dragons wander in, you just pick them off like you do normally. Those dragons are weak by themselves. They don't br...

There used to be a recall item on the Troll King. I'd like to see it brought back. The zone is difficult with that single file room full of Regen'n trolls. Especially without monks. Also nightbringer isn't exactly the spankiest piece of hardware around. Even though its ancient, I always found the zo...

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I picked up some updated drivers for the USB last night in response to one suggestion, but it hasn't seemed to help. It seems like the consensus says I pick myself up a NIC card. I'll do that today. Ruhr: I have Time Warner, and consequently use their Road Runner ser...

This has nothing to do with mudding but its driving me nuts and I bet one of you computer studs can help... Ever since I got a cable modem about 2 months ago, my computer has locked up way too much. It can happen at any time.. if I'm using the computer or if its just sitting idle. Generally, it will...

Treladian: Yes grouping is fun for everyone. Also, I was completely guilty of neglecting rogue classes when I used to lead. On the other hand, like I said in my previous message, the only realistic way that I know of to balance rogues is to make them uber-hitters. Assuming that this wouldn't unbalan...

I guess that I'm in the minority but I have never quite understood why it is so important that all classes be balanced relative to each other. People mud for different reasons. Some want to kill everything, complete every quest, etc. Others want to RP. Although I am not overly pre-occupied with the ...

Ragorn: You do not know the full story of how and why jurdex got his artifact, and I am not about to recount it for you. Suffice to say, it was more then merely killing tiamat. In fact, it had nothing at all to do with killing Tiamat. You are probably confusing Jurdex with Trogar, who was awarded a ...

I'm about to get overly theoretical. The way I see it, removing artifacts from sojourn is a misguided attempt to preserve everyone's self esteem. When an artifact is granted to someone, other then yourself, the implication is that the person who received the artifact is more deserving then you are. ...

Artifacts
I know this has been hashed and rehashed, but I decided I want to add my two cents. I do not think its a good idea to remove artifacts and relics from the game. Besides its excellent areas and players, sojourn has one thing that really makes it stand apart from most other muds. It has some serious h...

Ruhr: Thanuk was like level 35 or something when he won the contest. He did not have any other high level characters so he had to scrap for what equip he had. Ruhr: I agree with your suggestion that there be more grid zones. Zones like, for instance, the IC vault, were boring cause it was the same thing each time, with the same mobs in the same room, etc. Grids on the other hand are unpredictable.. and nothing beats a grid for its both difficult and rewar...
