not complaining about the elves. I'm complaing about the halflings. Just like grey elf int points are worth 1.5 per human's 1 point - halflings dex should notch better than it does. And it's not really silly to expect innate (from dwarf, other single attack/round races) attacks gained from max_dex, ...

I remember other threads about max_dex. Trouble is gods just ignore them. They never reply that is, as far as I remember. What is the point of max_dex if you don't gain the benefits? When you hit the dex rung of an elf, gnome, halfling, whichever, you should get the innate attacks they get. They onl...

Is max_dex broken?
I find it odd that a halfling's dex is worth more per point than a drow, gnome, etc. Yet 115 dex only seemed to give 1 notch to halfling, whereas 115 for drow and maybe grey elf both raised TWO notches from that. I know grey elf int notches are about every 8 points above 100, so given that, why aren...

His post is still there. The rest of the thread was just emotions. If there were a small town with lots of cops, and the cops continually pull people over for running traffic lights, or playing music too loud, are the citizens gonna complain then? Regardless of populous, rules are rules. The ONLY on...

What is it this mud is missing? This hopefully can be a thread about what you would like to see in the mud. What I would like to see is not being a warrior that wears hit and damage gear and get yelled at for it because I'm not wearing zone eq that gives hitpoints. I'm really confused why warrior eq...

Well, I was practicing skills last night for over 3 hours. (Dual wield, kick, hitall). Dual wield is currently at 37, kick at 97, hitall 96 (I think). Guess what I notched..... Yup, fugging MOUNT! On my way back to town I decided to hop a horse and notched mount on the first attempt :p I'm sorry, b...

To be honest, it's one of the things KILLING this mud..and a lot of others. New games don't require mindless drone action such as 'skills practice.' What was tolerated back in the early 90's, isn't now. In the time it takes to notch shieldpunch or rescue once when it's high, you could have gained se...

Notching: Melee vs. Casting
I can't help but wonder if it could be made to be not so TEDIOUS to notch melee skills (rogue/bard/warrior..dodge even) I have found it very strange that casting stuff notches really quickly but bash shieldpunch kick dodge and all that good stuff, sneak hide etc. just do not notch easily. It's very ...

enervate vs. contagion
I'm not too keen on the D&D rules, but why wouldn't both necromancer and enchanter get both? Contagion seems very short duration so I doubt that's over powered. Actually, enchanter has they ray, slow, stumble(wither?) effects in single form. A necromancer would be able to enervate as well, no?

I don't think anybody should be renamed :P I just was trying to point out that it's not fair for them to catch some, but not others. If you are known as a name, and then get it changed, then nobody will know! Hell, Drache is Dragon in german as far as I was told. Wasn't really my intention either - ...

Squids
Well, I saw some were upset with them. I wanted to see the pros and cons from professional squid players. From my own view, Squids here are really weak and pathetic compared to how I understood them to be in Dungeons and Dragons. Squids can't ever proc kill if something fails, etc. They seem incredi...
