Nausicaa was good, but the manga was a lot better than the anime.. like just about every other anime/manga out there. Vampire Hunter D was fun, I wish they'd make a sequel. The original Record of Lodoss Wars was excellent, but the "sequel" Chronicles of the Heroic Knight was lacking. Dragonslayer wa...

I agree that APs should get warhorses as well, but it looks like the Sojourn staff agrees with us. Fact is, a charger IS a warhorse. charg·er1 (chärjr) n. 1.One that charges, such as an instrument that charges or replenishes storage batteries. 2.A horse trained for battle; a cavalry horse. So I'm no...

I'd venture a guess that perhaps you're not doing as much damage as you think; I noticed the same thing at lower levels but after level 10 or so the mobs seemed to be a little more static with lost hit points. Perhaps make it so that mob regen is based on level, at least at lower levels, so that whe...

I think a coastal road would definitely be a boon to the Evermeet atmosphere. It would add another area to Evermeet (which is always a plus) and define EM more as an island, like Silvea said, which I think would add to the "mood" of Evermeet. Only thing is, I believe Evermeet in Forgotten Realms is ...

What was the point of this post? I believe it was that Grey Elf warriors don't have enough hit points at higher levels (higher? every level..) to survive when other warriors do. Is this true? Yes, I believe so. Does anyone deny it? Not that I've seen. If you do then perhaps you haven't seen Grey Elf...

Perhaps if we had doctors swinging swords into combat that might be more relevant, but I don't consider warriors doctors. The warrior classes were the classes I was speaking of. Cherzra - I wasn't trying to say that extra attacks are necessarily the way to go, I was trying to make a point that if this were to be implemented then there should be some sort of compensation since the larger warriors already have the advantage as is, that's all. Restated: If this were to be implemented then there should be some advantage to using LIGHTER WEAPONS, not to being a different race. If you use lighter weapons then perhaps you'd get more attacks. You'll probably get the old argument that two-handed weapons were specifically designed to be used two-handed even for people of greater strength, but I really think that argument has a few faults. As long as the handle of a weapon is big enough, I'd say generally it could be used two or one-handed ...

I really extremely disagree that fumbling adds realism, people don't run around fumbling their weapons everywhere during real combat, any more than trained modern soldiers run around dropping their guns everywhere. Fumbling is bad enough as is, for heaven's sakes don't make it any worse. [This messa...

It'd be nice if the silver-plated shield that the kobold blacksmith gives for that silver nugget quest was half-decent. The way it is now, the quest takes quite awhile to do and costs a relatively large amount of money for the people that are trying to do it (150 plat or so for 14-20th level elves g...

This has always bugged me, if a mob starts casting a spell on me such as a fireball or something, and I flee out of the room, and wait for 4 seconds, then I walk back in and get hit with the fireball.. why don't they stop casting when we leave like we do when they leave?

I wasn't trying to make grey and half-elves "better" I was just saying that it'd be logical to follow with the extra arrow or dart with the dexterity thing. Extra arrows/darts for high dexterity
Well since high dexterity is giving us extra melee attacks, it seems to follow that perhaps we'd get an extra arrow out or an extra dart thrown as well. Just another thing that might help to balance out the less beefy but more dextrous of the races when it comes to being rogues and rangers.

Incidentally I run a MUD too, which is based upon Circlemud 3.0; that's why I mentioned that adding a variable to ASCII pfiles is pathetically easy - I've done it several dozen times and it only takes a few minutes. Elseenas - if Sojourn uses ASCII player files then the change would not require a pwipe. As to the coding, it would take all of two minutes to code, then an annoyingly long compilation from changing one of the header files which might take an additional 5-10 minutes. All in all, the time it takes to...

Actually Sarvis that's not entirely accurate. Martial arts ending with the "do" (way) suffix are intended more for spiritual and athletic purposes, while martial arts with the jitsu (art) suffix are intended for hurting, maiming, and killing people. In other words, if you want to do martial arts for...

If I recall correctly on Soj2 agility did have a decent effect on tanking skills; human warriors would get hit a less than barbs, and elves even less.
