We are working towards Americanizing our mud population, stamm. Pretty soon you will be shooting your 12 guage out of your newly bought '72 Ford pick-up, screaming, "Yeeeeehaaaaww, go Bush. People lead because they want to lead and they get pleasure from leading. Or they lead because nobody else can. It doesn't need any special favours or xp benefits, nor should leaders be claiming whatever they want from a zone. Because I'm not going to follow them. Not unless at the start of the zone...

That's completely true Tehaya... However... :) I believe there are people who can distribute items fairly. And I also believe that an imperfect handout system is better than a perfect bid system. Simply because if nearly all of the items to go where they would be best used, then that's better than t...

I've worked with the handout system before, and at that time I much prefered it to the bidding system.... why? Because I'd do 5-6 zones and only be able to use one item, I'd get that item. With the way bids are you have to bid in each zone, or bid for a guildie or a friend because the chances of you...

Following Kifle's example... When you think about it... Mountain dwarves I'd expect to be more dextrous, wise and strong than duergars, who may be more agile and intelligent and powerful. But the difference between a mountain dwarf and a duergar dwarf would be tiny compared to the difference between...

Maybe it's time to revisit it if mounted knights now can't tank a giant better than a grey elf. I disagree. I agree with you. An elven warrior should tank better than a human paladin. The way it stands just now paladins should always be mounted, so to compare them to warriors to have to consider th...

Nah it shouldn't. Duergar have less dex. Duergar have ultra which is a severe detriment in alot of zones. But they also have innate strength, enlarge and invisibility and underdark sneak. And ultravision isn't _all_ bad. There's a lot of times if I'd like to have ultra so I could see what was in th...

I don't know of any paladins/APs that are dressed in spanky pure tank gear (hps+ac). Perhaps Selzanis, I don't know what he wears too well. Aristan for example dresses in damage gear, and despite that he can hold his own tanking. I don't think you can expect a paladin to match a warrior for being a ...

Re: Any Reason to be A paladin any more?? No didn't think so
OMG... Ok lets see, any reasons not to be a pallie plenty. 1) Any warrior can tank just as good, or probbaly even better. 2) Any other race of warrior has better hit points, cept for those short creatins, like halfsters, and what not. 3) Warriors can get into almost any zone group, just because the...

How about the component is a wolfsbane potion? Also, can clerics have a spell that lets you take gear in to Spob? I think the whole idea of wolfing is it's something unique about the zone to add a little difficulty. Why just override this by giving clerics a spell? They already have a spanky cures a...

The major problem with archery is loss of arrows. In a fight you're going to fire anywhere up to 120 arrows at a mob. If you do Spiderhaunts for example you can get seven 4/4 arrows. If duergars are almost identical to mountain dwarves, (which they are) then if mountain dwarves are good enough for goodies (and we are) then why are duergars not good enough for evils? Good luck answering that question. For an interesting visual essay on the subject, look at the late works of Fredrick Remington.
