stealing thread for a sec As foreign as this may sound, I don't recall many people playing invokers on Homeland. there was a reason for that, they were boring. they had no solo ability and not many spells to entertain yourself or walk around the mud easily ie no gate/fly and think no tele either. a...

Most high level zones could benefit from some sort of boss calling. Not all of course, but most. I think it removes some of the twinkability, although I'm sure there are those out there who will find a way (not that it's a bad thing) to twink almost anything. In this case, by "twink", I mean to crea...

Text sometimes goes by too fast, Burma. It's called highlight. Not difficult. Learn it. Use it. Also, use gags for melee combat. If you're not, you're insane. You can also gag most of unrelated caster spam, i.e. necro pets, clerics, spammy ass ghealers, etc. There's simply just no excuse for anyone...

Maybe instead of having to repair items, tradeskills could work hand in hand with the !rent items someone else proposed and what you said Kiryan about how conjurers could do. Kiryan, you hit the nail on the head as to what I have been trying to say about tradeskills, but couldn't quite articulate. Y...

We don't need stone + stone nor heal + heal. In my opinion it just makes the game that much easier. Adding the offensive combos or creating new offensive combos could be fun and interesting, but I don't think players need anymore defensive help. Why add any offensive combo then? Invokers > All The ...

<rant on> Why does it even matter what the Toril only players think? They aren't the ones having to start from scratch. They aren't the ones who have lost anything. The only thing that concerns them is that for whatever reason they seem to think that if Homeland players are given a level for level, ...

I'd think that you'd only have a slightly more powerful amount of damage using it targetted instead of as an area. It would never be the equivalent of a targetted spell. I think it would be most useful when you wanted to area without hitting a particular mob, such as a questor that happens to be in ...

Essentially you are saying to make area spells also multi target spells. Sounds like a cool idea. I think all you'd have to do is make all area spells targetted if they have targets passed to them, otherwise they would remain area. Target code exists, but would have to be tweaked to accept multiple ...

Kill Tasks
Kill tasks are similar to quests as they are assigned by a questor. Kill tasks can exist for any level, but in this post I'm going to focus on those for levels 1 - 20. The coders are crafty enough to code this, so I'm not going to try to plot that out here. The general idea is for the questor to off...

Cool, that's where I wanted to end up anyway. Hehe. Had to play devil's advocate and err to the side of insanity. Nope, never said one thing about breaking equipment. I said wear out. I said at the very worst it would get to 70% and/or after being repaired a certain number of times be no longer repairable and keep only a few of its stats. I never once said it would break. I DO count on guild halls being a conti...

I guess the reason that Vahok and others seem to think that "we don't need any more noobs at 46" is because they have never played on Homeland and don't know the calibre of players that were there. Even if the players were just the average mudder, Vahok and others seem to think there is a significan...

What really would be the point of giving a HL player a level 35 character with buffed out eq? They still aren't going to know the land here well, they still won't have top tier eq (and if they did, then I would be pissed!), and the still won't zone often due to being unknown. They will tinker aroun...

Level Restrictions i.e. That scroll was too powerful for you to use. BOOM! Welcome to Toril! i.e. That armor is way too high level for you and will degrade quickly. Every item on DAOC had a con (color coded level) somewhat the same as mobs do here. Based on the con of an item would determine whether...

If indeed this was not implemented with tradeskills, that would work for sure. If implemented with tradeskills, then make it to where only player crafted items wore...

The idea of tradeskills goes hand in hand with equipment eventually wearing out. It is a great way to foster a working economy. The time investment to skill up make it to where not everyone is going to have a top level crafter and therefore makes it to where the crafters can control their prices and...
