I found the MUD in the summer of 1995, 8 years ago. 8 years * 365 days = 2920 days * 24 hours = 70080 hours * 60 minutes = 4,204,800 minutes.
If 1 minutes RealLife (RL) = 1 hour game time, that's 4,204,800 hours game time. 4,204,800 hours / 24 hours = 175,200 days / 365 days = 480 years game time have passed since my first character was "born".
Which is pretty close: The 15th Day of the Month of Horthos (of the Abandoned), Year 469.

If your character died of natural aging, then a human which started at 20 years and lived till age 80 would live for 60 years * 365 days * 24 hours = 525,600 hours of game time = 525,600 RL minutes. 525,600 minutes / 60 minutes / 24 hours = 365 days, so human characters would be re-rolling every year.

As a side note, if it takes your character 3 hours to do a zone, that's 360 hours game time, or 15 days game time (360 hours/24 hours), of killing for your chacater to finish a zone. A 10 hour CR, takes nearly a month of a character's life.
