I grew up around racers, racing cars, bikes, snowmobiles and boats. The competition may change, but second place will always only ever be the first loser. ;)

I also played in a lot of tournaments as a child and the one reason I would take a bronze over a silver any day? You win to get a gold, you win to get a bronze, but you lose to the gold medalist to get a silver. ;)

And wow that is a lot of inner quotes.

But I'd rather lose to a Gold medalist than to a Silver medalist. Really, bronze is just a pity prize saying "You could have been any of the other 100 guys in this race."

And I've seen worse quote blocks.

That's one of the dumbest things i have ever read in my life. It must be a strange thing to be canadian...
Mysrel tells you 'have my babies'
You tell Mysrel 'u want me to be ur baby daddy?'
Mysrel tells you 'daddy? No, I think you have the terminology wrong'
You tell Mysrel 'comeon now we both know i would be the top'
Mysrel tells you 'can be where ever you want to be, yer still getting ****** like a drunken cheerleader'

Thanuk, I think what he means to say is, "You lose to gold AND silver, so it must really suck to be in 3rd place."

And I almost said something mean about canada and 3rd place.

Ok, so maybe you guys are new to the whole sports thing as far as medals go... so I'll lay it out for ya.

Usually an elimination tourny goes it's merry way until 4 people/teams are left...

lets name them and arrange them... and play out how the tourny ends.

team1 - W--| - team1 - W--
team3 - L -------------------- | - Team1
team2 - W--| - team2 - L --
team4 - L --

Since this is a 2x elimination tournament, here's tier 2.

team3 - W--| - team3
team4 - L --

And the medals are awarded as such:
Team1 Gold.
Team2 Silver (too bad they had to lose to get it)
Team3 Bronze
Team4 (sorry guys better luck next year)

btw: I was really bored when I put this together.
