WARING: Windows users!!!

Postby Silsaterur » Thu Sep 11, 2003 1:38 am

In a press release this morning Microsoft disclosed the existance of a MAJOR security gap in Windows NT4/5/6/XP that can allow a hacker to gain full and utter control of windows through some clever uses of the windows help buffer which doesn't check itself, thus allowing the hacker complete access and with a few installs through said buffer: Total control of your system.

Now that this has been formerly addressed here:
http://www.microsoft.com/security/security_bulletins/ms03-039.asp

There are no doubt many hackers maliciously toying with this "feature" of ntfs.

I recommend you install the updates to fix this problem sooner than later...

There's a quicker fix to that, and all other Windows 'features'.

Run Linux.

Someday I'll get around to writing a virus that only affects linux and Macintosh systems, just to shut you people up. ;)
