Mmmm... playoff basketball

Postby Cardolan » Thu May 16, 2002 3:19 pm

(Sorry Grungar, had to steal yer subject line...) Image

It's down to the Lakers, Kings, Nets, and Celtics. As a die-hard Lakers fan since the time I could walk (maybe even before that), I'd love to see a revival of the old Lakers-Celtics epics of the 80s and prior.

My predictions:

Western Conference:
Lakers in 5 over Sacramento

Eastern Conference:
Celtics in 6 over New Jersey

NBA Finals:
Lakers in 6 over Celtics

-Cardy, who wonders if he's the only one who follows basketball anymore...

Sorry Cardy, I am fine w/ your picks, but as to the watching pro basketball, I refuse.

This is a sport where you have two classes of players playing by two different sets of rules.

Superstars- travelling? that's like 5-6 steps for these guys, Fouls? by them no blood no foul, on them, breathe wrong, and you'll get called.

Everyone else- Standard basketball rules apply except in interaction with the Superstar class player.

Don't get me wrong, I love basketball, am a die hard College Hoops fan, but can't stomach the pro game for the above reasons.

Until its a level playing court, I won't watch.

Lakers in 6 over Kings (Kings win 1 at home and 1 away).

Celtics in 6 over Nets.

Lakers in 5 over Celtics. Image
