Today was the big day. My mothers cochlear implant was activated, and the first of 22 beeps sent my mom almost flying out of her chair, the emotions were overwhelming, and tears flowed. Each beep brought a huge thumbs up sign from my mom. After every electrode beep was heard, my mother got her first real taste of sound in 37 years. The switch was hit, and as the air conditioner hummed, she reached for her ears, crying and saying she could hear it, and it was so loud, then she realized she could hear her voice, and laughed, which got me laughin, my mother has never heard my voice suddenly turned to me and told me to please say Momma..which I did..preceeded by the words I love you. I cant tell you all really how I feel right now, Im just amazed and truly blessed. So many of us take the slightest things in life for granted..take time and embrace everything. Peace..Wuva signing off
