After last week, the only thing that matters is whether or not the Giants lose, and what will happen between GB, TB, and Philadelphia in the playoffs.
The AFC started strong, but has proven over the course of the season that they are largely a joke, again. While the real battles are being fought in the NFC - with important issues such as - Which of the 3 superbowl contenders has the advantage? As for homefield, the only important issue to philadelphia or tampa is making sure they do NOT play in Green Bay.
Also, McNabb's health will be a huge factor on Philadelphia's run in the playoffs. And the Saints, who seem to have Tampa's number might be an issue.
As a tampa fan - I am only concerned about the following:
New Orleans has beaten us twice this year - I want them out of the playoffs.
Philadelphia - With 5 victories over Tampa in a row, this is a jinx that needs to end. I want Philly early - while McNabb is hurt or freshly back and not fully healed.
Green Bay - These guys don't lose at home, but in Tampa it's gonna be another bad day for Favre.
Atlanta - Hah, we own these guys worse than the saints own us.

The AFC is by far a tougher than the NFC. The only reason the records are better in the NFC is because all the so-called dominant teams of your league have real heavy competition. When you play teams like the cowboys, the vikings, the redskins, the friggin texans, and the cardinals, its real easy to have a record like 9-4. The AFC is a much more balanced league, and the talent is spread out among more teams, so it makes for better games.
As for this week. Oakland better friggin come thru against miami, or its startin to look bad for the jets.
The vikings just knocked off green bay, the saints better not look passed them or they are in some shit.
The Jets blow their chances to a scrub team every year. Used to be the lions, last year it was the bills, hopefully this year it wont be to the friggin bears, who got 2 first downs in the first half against miami.
Green Bay better get their shit together, but with any luck brett favre will get hurt and they will be beat up and primed for a loss in week 17 against the jets.
I dont even know who the patriots are playing, but they gotta friggin lose. even if your not a jet fan, you gotta hate the patriots.
Tampa Bay is a pretender until they prove they can win when it counts. The bears won 13 games last year too, it doesnt mean a thing.
If the eagles had a halfway decent team in their division instead of just the scrub giants, they're playoff hopes would be slim. Once they play a serious team in a game that matters their season will end abruptly.
I won't be suprised if the AFC team wins the superbowl this year. The NFC is crumbling, hell the niners almost lost to DALLAS this week. Id love to see tampa finally make a run at the superbowl, but i dont think they have a legitimate shot unless they have homefield throughout the playoffs. Its getting cold and theres no premeire running backs in the NFC. Its bone breaking weather time, and someone needs to break ricky williams's ankle @once.

It's all about the power of the natty dreads. I don't think many teams are going to have a chance at stopping him given his power/low center of gravity. Once he gets to speed it like trying to stop a speed bump - you just can't get underneath him to stand him up.
The one thing that I noticed on the Monday night game was that he seems to hesitate at or behind the line of scrimmage, seemingly waiting for the play to develop. When he is slow in the backfield and indecisive, he takes a loss. Against quick defenses he will be completely ineffective.
I haven't seen any Miami fans in this forum. Hurm, they must still be wearing #13 jerseys, like Thanuk wears his #12 jets uni.

I love the Patriots, you scum sucking Jets fanatic.
They're my team... Though my predictions for monday night football next week is that the Pats lose against the Titans.
The last game of the season is the Pats against the Dolphins, though.. At Foxboro. Go Pats. That game is gonna be one to watch.

Curtis Martin is a wanker and if you are touting the fact that you have a player that leads the league in punt returns, you have your own inferiority complex to deal with :P.
Alas Kifle, it looks like someone upstairs called "bottoms" on the Bears' win-loss record from last year. It sucks that they have no one to get that offense moving.

No one has stopped the Saints offense this year, and if Tampa Bay can't (which they can't), then its all about the defense in the big easy.
Depending on who we match up with, this could be our year.
BTW, we clinch a playoff berth with a win this week against the Vikings and a loss by either the Giants or Redskins.
Here's to hoping the Steelers knock off the Bucs.

Who's starting at QB this week for the Steelers? I predict 4 pics, 2 of which will be returned for TDs.
The Saints will crater, their Black Magic Cajun spells can only last for so long.

As much as I'd like to see the Vikings win, it's not going to happen. They do play better after a road loss(in a home game) and they play better overall at home, but Deuce is a beast, and is going to walk all over them(my fantasy team sez so... nod me).

First, Green Bay beat Minnesota. Second, if you're counting on the QB with the most consecutive games played at the position to get hurt, it's probably wishful thinking. If you have to count on ANY player to get hurt for your team to win, it's probably wishful thinking.
Besides, the Jets aren't going to have anything to play for but pride come Week 17.

actually, the jets chances aren't as bad as some people think. of course, I have my biases...
but seriously, let's look at the remaining schedule for the jets, the dolphins and the pats.
Jets
@Chicago (3-10)
@New England (8-5)
Green Bay (10-3)
Miami
Oakland (9-4)
@Minnesota (3-10)
@New England (8-5)
New England
@Tennessee (8-5)
NYJ (7-6)
Miami (8-5)
let's assume, for the sake of argument, that the jets don't screw up to a scrub team the way they usually do, and beat the bears. I think oakland has a better than decent chance of beating miami. that leaves the toss-up game as NE v. Tenn.
if the titans can pull through, it gets very interesting going into the last two weeks in the AFC East. it's not out of the realm of possibility that all 3 teams would be 8-6.
if we look ahead to week 16, we'll assume that miami can beat minnesota, even in minnesota (that might be a stretch, but minnesota really does suck this year so let's run with that). and barring some sort of divine intervention, SOMEONE will win the jets/pats game. if it's the pats, then the jets are toast, because miami and the pats play each other in week 17. so clearly, the jets/pats game is a HUGE game for the jets.
if they can pull it off, they'll most likely be going into week 17 in a tie for the afc east lead with miami. miami would have a tough division game (NE); the jets would have green bay (eep).
of course, there's a LOT of speculation in this post, and the jets have a long history of screwing up in december. one thing's for certain -- it will be interesting.

The packers came back and won that game? Holy crap!!! So much for turning it off at half time eh? Either way, hoping for players to get injured isn't wishful thinking, in fact injuries to better teams are the leading cause of scrub teams winning the superbowl. But if you think the jets aren't in the mix your kidding yourself, all they need to do is win out and have miami lose 1 game and they take the entire division. Miami has to beat oakland AND new england, and ricky williams cant rush for 200 yards every game, and even when he does they are still only 1-1. If miami loses to oakland and new england, and new england loses to the jets and the titans, the jets dont even have to beat green bay to make the playoffs, they take the division at 9-7 as they hold the tie breakers against each team. And if they make the playoffs, they will have earned it, unlike the packers, who had to outmatch the deadly trio of chicago, minnesota, and detriot to squeek into the playoffs. God what i would give to put the jets in THAT division.
The pack have a padded record, they still need to prove they are as good as everyone thinks they are.

Green Bay is for real and will fold to no one. Ahman Green is also a beast, and I can't think of anyone I'd rather have under center than Brett Favre.

I'm just proud that Mike Tice didn't take the easy way out like his assinine predecessor and kneel on it. Going for 2 wouldn't have hurt the team, so why not do it and try to give the team a boost for the rest of the year and restore some faith in their playing ability.

What an overrated pile of garbage he is. Wow, he may set the record for TD....too bad he carries and receives the ball about 40 times a game. I also can't wait to see his playoff rushing...too bad I'll have to wait until hell freezes over....

sigh. once again, jet december football rears its ugly head. at least this isn't as embarassing as that loss to buffalo last year.
and yet still, they have the slimmest of hopes to sneak into the playoffs. unfortunatley, those hopes rest on miami losing to minnesota (ha) and new england and the jets beating new england and green bay (ha ha).
