Ok, thanks to an ooc comment, me and muma will be duking it out sometime within the next two months or so. The exact date will be posted later.

Hey are you both quite proficient at all of those fighting techniques? Or did you make that up?
Will there be protective eq worn like in olympic Judo (soft helmets, body protection etc?)

Yes, I know Kifle is a dude, and also no I'm not advanced at all. I've been trained in silat, kickboxing and kali somewhat, but it has been about a year and a half since i've trained in any of those. However, I have no fear. I'm going to be working out hardcore for the next few month(s) to get stronger. Also, we should make it so the rules are no bone breaking and no weapons.

No, muma has been trained, and I am pretty sure she will be remembering what she learned over the next few months since she is so adament about not wanting to lose. I was on the wrestling team in school and trained with one of my friends after i got kicked off the team. I also trained with a two seperate friends in both of the other martial arts.

We will both be wearing sparing gear (open-palm 5lb. gloves, full headgear, shin pads, and open bottom foot pads.) She has been warned about hits to the junk, so there will be none of that.

If anybody else would like to compete or have ringside seats, we will be getting together in a few months( no fixed date as of yet). All bets will be mad in plat and i am giving muma 10-1 odds.

Personally, I'd like to see you do a 5 minute mile next to me... I used to bare-knuckle box for money in St. Kits, hockey fights... You can get a LOT done in a 16 hour day and despite popular oppinion, MUD != life.

I still distance run and work out... 1 1/2 hours of the day that I don't spend in boredom.

Heh... the great thing about Aikido is that it's based around using as little effort as possible to defend yourself. You don't need to be in shape at all...

Besides, most of us don't claim that we are masters at our art. We've probably trained in it though. I'm only 5th kyu right now (basically level 2) but should be testing for 4th soon.

Hrm, how about you get the hell out of my thread you *censored*? This is meant to be a fun outing for those that would like to come or watch the tapes later. Like it was posted earlier, yes, most of us actually know these styles but are probably far from masters in them. I am probably the best at wrestling since i have trained in it the longest and it has become instinct. Yes I am out of shape, but i am by no means fat or unable to defend myself when necessary. The only time I am called a nerd is when people find out I play d&d or that I am 10x smarter than they are.

I will repeat, this is for fun, we aren't going to ultimate fighting championship, and if you don't care to participate in any positive way, get the hell out

Exactly! I dont claim to have any kind of formal training, i think i took judo when i was like 8. I have however, gotten drunk and stupid and ended up rumbling in the street a few times
