Windspell Street
This busy street is the largest in the city, and it runs straight
through the heart of The Gate, with the docks at the southern end, and
the city gates at the northern. Short, yet elegant building line either
side of the cobbled street, which mostly appear to be places of
business. A sizeable crowd pushes it's way along the street and the low
hum of conversation is quite audible. People of all races and colors
make their way along the broad boulevard, some walking in groups, others
keeping to themselves. The Gate is home to many peoples and cultures,
and it's full variety is on display here. The street continues to the
north and south. The famous Blade and Stars Inn lies to the east.

The Watchful Shield Square
A beautiful shrine to Helm, the protector, has been set in the middle
of this busy intersection between Windspell Street and Helm Street. A
finely polished steel gauntlet, standing at least 10 feet high, rises
out of the middle of the square. A single open eye is set in the middle
of the mailed fist, while a small sliver plaque is attached on the other
side of the shrine. This intersection looks to be highly traveled, with
a multitude of people, walking and horsebound, crossing to either side
of the shrine. A few creaky wagons roll by, whose drivers shout angrily
at the peasants blocking their path. The tops of tall building can be
seen to the east, while the docks can barely be made out to the south,
although the smell is more noticeable. Windspell Street runs north and
south here, while Helm Street runs east and west.
