Hmmm there are MANY seriously dumb things I have done on the mud.

Here are just a few examples:

Trying to solo Lord P with my old conjurer.

Attacking 6 assisting mobs in TF with my monk before the rest of the group was ready.

Jumping back into the portal to Deep dragon even after working out it was a BAD idea.

Having my wimpy high on Astral, fleeing from 10 mobs and dragging them back to the unglobed group.

Following rangers (any rangers!!)

Spend a LOT of cash on a haste dirk 2 days before haste was taken off items.

4 letters CC CR

Many more but to tired to think of them.

yeah, back when that black green cloak or whatever it was was haste, I bought one like 3-4 days before haste was taken off it. I like the added moves, but man, was i pissed when I saw them for sale for about 50p instead of the thousands of plat I paid....

6) luring dragon lord into a tiamat group. that was accident

Once up near GN, I had acquired the cursed dagger off the rogue up by the butcher shop. Well, I couldn't wield it, so I figured I'd just go out away from any potentially scavenging mobs and quaff a rem curse potion (mistake #1). I proceeded out by the caves where the griffons are and whipped out my potion, not paying attention to the condition of the ground beneath me (mistake #2).

Here's a summary:

You quaff a potion of whatever it was.
Your a fiery mace flashes blue and falls to the ground.
Your a fiery mace sinks into the water.

I broke my keyboard over that show of stupidity.

you, of course, were holding all the CC and the SF gear..this back when SF gear kicked ass of course and i was assured by the other warriors in gorup that i was only one bidding in the glimmering mith bastard sword!

I was sitting at the fountain with my bard singing songs of joy. Some new guy comes along and was basically naked. Being in a nice mood I told him to wait because I had some spare equipment he could have. Not thinking I left my bard there at the fountain and brought out my mid level conjurer with the spare equipment and started handing it out to this new guy. Mystra came down and deleted my char's and because I lost my marbles over the whole deal I was site banned for the remander of Toril's existance. The multi playing part was an honest mistake but the flip out got my whole server site banned which made others pissed at me who were not involved.

This one is not quite as dynamic as the other stories here...but still good for a laugh (and I KNOW I am not the only one...you know who you are). Xaril and Keijen (rl friends) had turned me on to mudding and Toril (damn you guys!). I had a barb warrior with suck stats...didn't know any better. So here I am sitting before the warmaster in guild trying to figure out how to practice. Not knowing the syntax, I tried several things one of which was "Bash who?". Being a total noob (and male which means, when all else fails ask for help!) I thought hrmm...I guess I practice it by bashing someone "bash master"....end of story...but at least corpse was easily recovered and I had two sets of newbie crap! *ROAR*

In a Tiamat raid long lost to most peoples memories in either Sojourn 1 or 2 (I have no idea) somehow or another I was the only one in the room with Tiamat, which is a pretty bad thing when she sees you and is whooping on you. I think my party had either fled or died by this point. But being the main tank, I had to make sure everyone was safe before I myself stepped out.
But anyway..I ended up tanking her as the only one in the room (except for a pile of invisible gods apparently) for a good 6 or 7 rounds which In Tiamat time is enough to slaughter most parties.
This was prolly after about the third or so attempt to damage her and run her outta mana, etc.
Anyway, she had already killed me a few times by then, and I was feeling cocky being there all by myself (except for invis gods that I didnt know about)
I said one of my borrowed lines from Princess Bride..
"Hello my name is Garosh Battlerager, You killed ME, prepare to Die!!!"
(battlerager, as I was a dwarf then)
anyway..apparently I damn near killed everyone in the room, except Tiamat, by making them laugh so hard (the gods that is)
Anyway, though I actually survived the fight, and eventually the watching gods recovered from blowing orange juice outta there noses onto their computers, it was a pretty stupid (though fun) thing to sit there and taunt and tank Tiamat solo for 6 or 7 rounds Image

Yasden!

Just now read your post. I remember that time in Tia believe me! Because Ilsha offered to use Fade to get our corpses, but Essete and I refused because we didn't want to get set to -1000 and I didn't want to lose my Avenger.

Here's what happened: After a group led by Mplor cleared all astral, Maelgwyn, Essete and I went up to Avernus. Maelgwyn stripped naked (Essete and I already were) and someone, can't remember who, sent elementals into the portal and we jumped in and tried to run through. Got the vault opened. Maelgwyn just spammed drag Eadgydd drag Essete west and somehow, bouncing around like a pinball from dragon roars, actually got roared OUT of the vault with our corpses! (He shouldn't have been able to, since the guardians block the way). After that it only took a couple more deaths to drag back out through the portal. Talk about an adrenaline rush!

Anyway, dumbest thing I ever did was aggro the hidden quiet guest in IC with my Avenger. Ok, the first time wasn't dumb. The second and third time were :P

I don't know if this is so much of a stupid thing..but it was pretty funny. Me, Sangdraxus, Tadra, Tastone, and a monk..I can't remember who.. but someone had dragged the corpse of the gatemaster or dockmaster out to the farm house and we were killing/ressing the hell out of it. Needless to say I believe Lloth paid us a little visit, I think he was more mad that he couldn't get us becuase we were roleplaying evil than he was that we were using a loophole to get exp =)

Well, one time we decided we would try to take out the main gates at Evermeet. I was a 50 warrior and had exp to blow. So I said sure why not. So I walk in with my 1200 hps and died. Death wasnt so bad. It was that 8th floor bash in the space of 4 seconds that really got to me. Dont underestimate those elves lemme tell ya.

Me and Zoldren tried to solo Tiamat back in Sojourn 2. We actually knocked the biatch down to nasty wounds. I think if someone had followed us in after we ran...we coulda took her.

Resulting in an explosion unlike any you have ever dreamed out! Aarrrggggg!

The world starts spinning, and your ears are ringing!
Tiamat half kills you with her mighty pound!
YIKES! Another hit like that, and you've had it!!

The world spins faster, and is that 'The Anvil Chorus?'
You are bludgeoned to death by Tiamat.
With a final blow, you feel yourself falling to the ground.
Your soul leaves your body in the cold sleep of death...
Your vitality drains away.
The magical side of things is less visible.

Back in the days of Soj1, I was a human necromancer. Wandering around WD one day, I came across a mighty Githyanki knight. I was surprised to find he wasn't aggro to me, or to others of very evil alignment. I stood in his room a while, watched him kill a couple who weren't quite so evil. Suddenly I saw a 'Someone' dismount the knight. I had di on at the time, so I automatically assumed it was a god. Not being too bright, I mounted the knight and took off west and up north towards the fountain.

In the days of Soj1, this easily could have earned me a deletion or worse. After interrupting someone praying by a huge knight walking in and smacking them around, the Knight was teleported out from under me. I was given a stern warning that the knight was not a toy, and told to go on my way.

*waves hand* This is not the Necromancer you seek... go on your way

HAHAHA.... that is a good one.

I think the stupidist thing I did was when people went and ran the Gauntlet... Deidrit had a Sword of the Anti-Paladin... So I spend basically everything I had in existence to by that damn sword... and as I was heading home to show it off... I saw this pertty little group of ducks sitting there... <---- brain shuts off right about here in the story

Sword of the AP procs Unholy Word... and what do you know... all the ducks are good!... So I hit the duck and
You swing_badly_sending your Sword of the Anti-Paladin flying!

Ahh i got two stupid things that i did before whe i played under the name of Tanim Wistifigin.

1) Killed myself with a lightning bolt. I'm sure someone has to have done this before. After I did this I was so pissed that i quit MUDding for like 6 months.

2) Got myself deleted for multiplaying. I used to relocate to a storage char I had in Ashrumite and then dimension door down to Jenna and run to the tiny golden earring after each reboot. It was a failsafe method cause i always got there first until one day I got lazy and logged on the two characters from the same account...

Needless to say, I think I learned my lesson.

Was doing equipment runs through JOT and some other area. I was a level 46 cleric named Eskendil. A goodie grey elf. It was a long night and the group leader would tell me to quake in one room, then the next room I was supposed to silence. I can't remember the group leaders name. Someone famous. We finally came to the last group to kill. In the room were a couple of casters and an NPC named JOTH. No fooling. Joth was a high level NPC cleric. The group leader told me to Quake, the fight started, and I accidentally cast SILENCE. It was a mass murder of most of our group. Varia did the resses and I apologized to all for my screwup, then I won the Amethyst ring. Image

Another one: A level 8 Grey Elf Cleric named Eskendil pulled a torch on a wall in the Kobold village. Wow, he thought, a secret area! He went through, passed a dead guard, and found a room with three of those same guards who slaughtered him! After sending out dozens of tells for help with a CR, nobody was high enough level. (This was beginning of Soj1.) Varia heard of his plight and organized a group of Elves (Varia couldn't come herself but she got Xyd) to save this poor foolish noobie. About eight elves were needed to kill those three guards back then. They saved the foolish noobie, and for a long while the Sisterhood looked after the goob. I remember getting a wreath of ivy and some bracelets and saying to the Sisterhood member, "I'd look goofy wearing these." Then I donned my wooden shield and went back to killing Dogs in the streets. Rofl.
