Rich! again...

Postby vynigumba » Thu Jun 14, 2001 4:38 pm

Well I am getting rich again. you know.. Inflows > Outflows.
I already purchased weightless container, countless potions of various nature, arcane scrolls, practice my skills, left all besides platinum on ground and now... I have no clue how to do with the extra money.

I believed the administrators had an idea to make platinum worth. Still I dont see it.
Am I missing something?

They have ideas/plans yes...but they also have a lot more important things to finish before they can worry about the kingdom, house, boat, ect code. Give them some time, elementalists aren't in, range, various bugs, still need to be taken care of before I hope any attention goes to money pits Image
Give it time,

What do you guys do to get these thousands upon thousands of plat? I've been playing since day 1 and only have about 200 to my name, and aside from food and training, only purchased one thing at 30 plat.

Do you have to play a solo class to make this money?

Unless I miss my guess entirely, Vynigumba = necro. Plat is never gonna be a problem for a necro.

Most 50+ mobs leave 5-15 plat on death.

I spent a fortune on spells and have not really collected much cash lately, but I have over 2K plat on my primary.

I can make 200 plat in one day exping at a fairly low level. You just have to know what you are doing. Plus I don't bother to split cash between my horde groups:P 15 plat per person is silly when I spend every penny I have pretty much on random things for random people! but if you wanna make cash just lead and claim it, not an uncommon thing to do...leaders right i say!

Give the money to a rogue, as they are an unsatiable black hole for coin.

Poisons: 5platinum-50platinum each
Disguise kit: 30 platinum
Good lockpicks: 1 gold each
Garrote wires: 1 platinum each
Darts: 1 gold each

Drop your money on your favorite rogue and watch as they slow and blind every mob you fight from then on.

the necros are the folks who have all the money from exp. always been this way they just kill soo much soo incredibly fast. how many necros have spent weeks upon weeks in HP? those mobs drop 1-5pp each, sometimes more..

please dont complain about too much money, vynigumba..you are an EXCEPTION..NOT the rule..

Yeah, seriously :P

I think just about the only ppl with lots of ca$h are necros. Hell, as a cleric I think I just broke 700plat last night, with total money value maybe somewhat over 1K now. I don't have to spend money on spells, minimal on training (since I practice my skills enough during exping to stay over the curve), and I don't really buy stuff.

Unfortunately,
I am not playing a necro

To kill mob is not the only way of making money. Anyway my bottom line is that I see an inflationary environment in the mud right now (as usual).

I think this weekend I will go CAMPING at the state park. I have all of the proper EQUIPMENT I need. Everything I need FOR a wonderful weekend is in my basement, although I do hope that I can find a SALE on marshmellows for roasting over the fire. I will probably have to stop to fill my car up with gas because it really SUCKS it right up. I hope you have a good weekend too.

Gormal what you doing is plain theft. The xp is chared in a group and so should the cash also be chared.

I have spoken to a few more players and group leaders about it. And how I think about it. First the leaders command people not to loot the corpses, and in the end they keep the cash, This way I got robbed already for honderds of plats and how are you Gormal gone expect me to pay for my spells, what cost atm 100+ plat per spell.

Gormal and every body else who does this are just plain thieves. I don't mind if a leader forgets to split or a crash prevents this, but otherwise its just theft.

And don't say 15 plat wont help a lot, it will becouse if my chare was only 15 plat it means often I did not get more then 2 or 3 nodges, I need 50 to level !

I often wonder why evils play less evil then some goodies play good alignment.

When I lead xp I always split the cash in the end, but it's my good right to keep it if I wanted to. Just like it's a leader's good right to keep any item after a zone. Lots of other people keep the cash when they are running xp groups around, which is a dull and boring task.

Since I'm a weak ass drow I always let a troll or ogre loot and split for me..

No big deal really, everybody I hang with has a few K of plat already so.

Only the highest level mage should pay for spells. In a world where people are clamoring for fair equipment distribution, fair cash splits, and handing down equipment, I would think someone would be more than willing to let you scribe off their book.

To be straight with you, as a cleric, I have a good amount of cash for just being level 17, I spend little to no money at all. The evil community seems to be very based on hand me downs. If someone gets something new, that takes place of something else, they give it to the needy. I haven't bought any major eq... maybe the random item. But most of the time, I just get money, deposit it, and let it sit... where's my interest anyways? Image

In the last two weeks, I've spent over 2k platinum on poison, lockpicks, and garrote wires (mostly on poison). If you have extra money laying around, feel free to feed your local rogue.
