Curious as to why weapons were restrung long ago...

I've always wondered why weapons like Twilight, Nightbringer, Lost Sword, etc. were renamed to remove the actually 'name' from them. Personally i loved the old names, even now avenger's been redone.
Please, I'd like an actual response from someone who knows the REAL reason why, not some players smart remark :P

Please, can you let us know? (not sure if it was ever revealed in the first place)

a named weapon implies it's unique. if you have 16 twilights in the game it's no longer unique.

Don't you remember Sylvos? That king was getting old and he misplaced things all the time, so every time he had Tristan and Keen make another sword, the dumbass would lose it :P

I'd love to see the weapons return with their old names.
Seeing "Twilight the sword of destruction", my favorite name, just makes me tingle all over.
Of course "The Mighty Battleaxe of Frugelheim the Slayer" is tied.
and I cant even wield either weapon!
(not that I'd ever wield Frugelheim, but still!)
