TIEUP "TIE UP"

Syntax: tieup <name>

Tieup allows you to attempt to capture any PC who is WANTED by any hometown.
You must have rope in order to tieup your victim.

Note: Anyone caught abusing this command will be dealt with harshly.
Use of this command is ONLY allowed for bringing WANTED criminals to justice.

hehe

You wouldn't believe the things people say to avoid the chopping block. I've had people try to bargain with me, threaten me, or just plain lie as I dragged them to meet the judge. On one occasion, a person I was dragging in even claimed that I would be deleted because he knew an admin. Seriously now, I don't do it for the platinum anymore, that's just a consolation prize. I am now hunting furfoots, point ears, and other undesireables that taint our good city of Waterdeep. I'm sorry that you were bitten by a bug, but the second I had you captured, I was dragging you too fast to notice your words. Until you cease your obnoxious harassment of the citizenry of Waterdeep, I will continue my hunt..

Hahaha, You and I both know as rogues, That it is NEAR IMPOSSIBLE to be charged with a crime as a rogue with the ability to unbind. So what was your REAL intent? serving justice, I find that hard to believe. As for beginners, lets try to prove yurself by giving away that 500 plat you recieved from turning me in to some Noobie in waterdeep, and I do have the quote of you saying, 'what should i spend that 430 p i got to treat myself?' I dont suppose you want me to post that as well? What shame for you and Imphras, still trying to pull off a LIE.

It is quite easy to be 'charged' for a crime as a rogue. Go to the judge and type in 'list'. You will get a huge list of all the people who have been 'charged' with crimes. As for being dragged in and serving your sentence for the crime, that is also very possible. If there was some way to show the log of me dragging you to the judge from the east gates in real time, you would notice that I did so within about two seconds, so at most you had one chance to unbind yourself. Did you succeed? No. You aren't as good at unbinding as you think you are, or else you wouldn't have been tossed in the klink, furfoot. Even the best rogues mess up their unbind. Even if I had seen your messages whilst spamming through the city, I doubt I would have taken heed, and Nokie, no I was not abusing the tieup command, I was using it exactly how it was intended. As for the bug, I'll refrain from tying up scummy halflings until it is fixed, but I don't believe everything people tell me, or else I'd think Gormal is l33t.

As a rogue, I've never had the opportunity to use the unbind skill. Why? Because I am lawful.. I haven't ever been brought before the judge. Only sloppy rogues run around rampantly building up a price on their head like fools. It's a wonder when they finally get caught that they throw a fit, seeing as they've been buttering their own proverbial bread. If you don't wish to be hunted down and tied up, then I highly suggest you speak to the judge of Waterdeep and pay your debt, stunty one.

As for the 400+ platinum coins. I spent it. I spent it on more rope to get rid of the rest of the corrupted little short ones that taint my beautiful city. Oh, don't think you're off the hook, point ears. You may not be as short, but I will send you to jail if you think you can disturb the peace and get away with it. I didn't need all the money for rope, so I spent the rest on beer. I needed a good drink to dull the pain of seeing countless little offenders running through the streets. Go back to Beluir and ruin your own city. Next time I see you harassing a street cleaner or stealing from some poor woman, I'm going to rush into your little halfling city and carve them up a treat.

A rogue has an abundance of reasons to frequent a judge. Perhaps the rogue is bribing him or getting in good with the judge. Another possibility is that he is a bounty hunter and is looking for coins to fatten his coffers. Maybe the rogue wants to present an honorable image of himself that does not accurately portray his devious self.

I could go on..

Dornax,
A reputation is built by You yourself and everyone within the guild, and I, by no means, is here to make others think different, or to 'slander' your guild name. My apologies to you if I offended you in any way.
All I ask is of Yaya to return the plats, which isnt ALOT, that he has earned from the bugged rope system off turning me in. And I dont mean to return it to me, but maybe to the gods, or to the pond, where it will serve No purpose.
I would appreciate if you can please let me know of your actions taken for this matter, on your next post. Your actions will reflect your guild's reputation, which again is created only by you and your fellow guild members. I have asked Yayaril to do so in the previous posts, BUT he refuses to do so, and insists on another horrible Lie.

Yayaril,
You must be intellectually challenged, to try to convince someone that you have spent all 400+ plats on ropes.
13) A 25 foot length of rope for 1 gold, 2 silver, and 5 copper coins.
So you mean to tell me, you are running around with over 2000 ropes in your bag.

400 plat isnt a large sum of money. But the idea of acknowledgement of a bug, and goods recieved from a bug, is BEING used, rather than returned, is just cheap and abusive. Were there other goods thats you've recieved previously from another bug??

I hope you do the right thing. And for future reference, when they do fix the bug, I dont mind being turned in, its part of the action, which keeps me on my toes, which brings excitement for the time I spend here.

A mercenary to a person maybe, but a judge? Bribing a judge? he's taking money from the judge...and it's a bug anyway, so he's not really doing anything but stealing

Blubble, if you were interested in simply receiving the funds and coming to an amiable resolution, then you would have spoken to Yayaril directly. I do not think the course of action you took was aimed at that goal.

If you have a problem with Yayaril, by all means talk to him. If you cannot come to a solution, then sure, talk to the Gods or me.

You did nothing of the sort. You posted a log, which for all anyone knows could be edited, on the bbs and attacked the entire guild through your post's title.

Not to mention, you had several ways to get out of the situation, and Yayaril worked within the confines of the rules (unless a God disagrees). If Yayaril did not, then the God will deal with the situation.

All I am asking is that you not bring up a guild when one person does something you think is wrong.

Thanks.

Dornax, the log has been edited, cut short on all the rooms that yaya dragged me, you can tell, east gates to judge is not 3 rooms, i found it unecessary to post the whole drag. This is just a matter of 400 p, and your actions that will be taken of it.
Imphras needing plat, is a question, not an insult. And its a question, which you can answer, just by showing your actions towards 400p. And I am bringing this up to you, and discussing it with you, but for some reason you feel Im out to slander or attack your guild. This is NOT my purpose.

Well... it _is_ just Yayaril you have your beef with, right? I don't know much about Imphras, but I'm sure that they don't have Sunday afternoon training sessions entitled "How to Be a Bounty Hunter Using a Bug with Untie: A Pyramid Program"...

But Dornax, if you do, can I sign up? ^_^

"Dornax, the log has been edited, cut short on all the rooms that yaya dragged me, you can tell, east gates to judge is not 3 rooms, i found it unecessary to post the whole drag."

So who knows what else was edited?

"This is just a matter of 400 p, and your actions that will be taken of it."

I don't see how you are owed 400 plat. It is up to Yayaril if he chooses to give you it. Not sure why he would from what you posted, though.

"Imphras needing plat, is a question, not an insult. And its a question, which you can answer, just by showing your actions towards 400p."

Every guild needs money, but the act in question had no relation to the Shadows of Imphras.

"And I am bringing this up to you, and discussing it with you, but for some reason you feel Im out to slander or attack your guild. This is NOT my purpose."

I do think it is your purpose. Why else would one do it on a public forum?

I am not exactly a difficult person to find. I play a lot. Image

This is also the second time a member of Darkstorm Rising has had a conflict with the member of another guild and in the title of the post addressed it to the entire guild of the person they had a conflict with. (See Dartan's post to Sacred Disciples, logs section of bbs.) What's up with that? You guys incapable of using tells?

Dornax, from Blubble's post it is very plain that there is a bug with the tieup code. He successfully removed the rope and moved away but was unable to do anything because the game thought he was still tied up.

Weather Yayaril was paying attention when Blubble informed him that there was a bug is debatable, but the fact remains that it is still bugged. Anyone that continues to _abuse_ the tieup command should type help tieup and read carefully the part about abusing the command.

If Yayaril is doing as he claims, continuing to turn in people, then he obviously doesn’t care that it’s bugged and should be willing to pay whatever price, if any, for the continued abuse of the bug.

His actions make him look like a real jerk, and to some people could be telegraphed to the attitude of the guild he belongs to as well – which seems to be somewhat confirmed by the tone of your post.

As a rogue, Nokie has no problems with getting tied up because Nokie has the unbind skill, and uses it very well. With the whole thing being bugged right now, Nokie has real problems with opportunistic cowards looking for a quick buck or to get people executed when they wouldn’t have otherwise been.

Again, the whole situation makes me want to type ‘help tieup’ and read the part about abusing it again. I suggest some other people do the same.

Today I thought things through, thoroughly and decided that I may have been rash. So I took the 18 coppers I had left over from buying the beer and ropes and gave it back to the judge, along with one of the beers. He just sort of chuckled and tilted back a swig, under his shadowy cowled hood. Then a great belch issued forth which shook the entire Hill of Fools. The belch possessed enough power to momentarily open his hood for but a brief moment, and what I saw was astounding. For under his shadowy hood was a human hand. This human hand was quite bizarre, as it had many rings of gold and silver. I spoke forth, feeling kind of awkward at this bizarre vigil.

I said, 'Judge, why is it you have a hand for a head?'

The judges great booming voice echoed back at me, 'It is for when Blubble comes to ask me for the 400 platinum he thinks Waterdeep owes him.' And at that, the hand slowly clenched into a fist and turned its back to me. Slowly, but deliberately, one of the fingers, the middle to be precise, arched up over the other ones. I just laughed and laughed. Maybe it was the beer.

Dornax, maybe you should read the posts more carefully, Im not asking for the plats back, i only ask for the plats to be ponded so yaya wont use it for his own goods. I did attempt to talk to yay, but he refused to listen, and for your information, How was I supposed to know to discuss it with you?? You insisted to come on to this thread and say that I couldve talked to you. Before your post, I didnt know you existed. I posted this, to see what actions can be taken, since there is nowhere to turn, when yaya didnt listen, and was hoping that someone would come in to resolve this, but you insist to make this simple matter worse and is not helping. Again, my request is simple. Lets not make matters worse. And if you do refuse, there is nothing that i can do. But as I will say again, your image reflects on your actions. Your generosity will be seen through your resolution, and I hope we can end this matter. Again My apologies if I offended you or your guild, This is not my purpose.

Like I said before, my hunting of you countless furfooted scum will be on hold until the bug gets looked at and fixed, if it truly exists. I have not hunted since after I brought Blubble to his sweetly deserved justice, so you may calm your accusations of a breach of rules, Nokie.

this is retarded. its 400 plat. you both can earn that in an hour easily so it shouldnt be an issue. yayaril didnt abuse a bug...he didnt know it was bugged. try spam dragging someone when you know the eaxct dirs (as he does so he can drag people that can esscape)

conflict between roleplaying and non-roleplaying is all its about. who cares honestly...why does everyone take shit so personally?

So you say you didn't know I existed..?

What actions can be taken? If you want action, speak to Yayaril then perhaps the Gods if it means oh so much to you..

Didn't know that you could talk to me here..?
I'd have preferred you keep things in game, that is the whole point!

Okay, yes, the guild's reputation is built by those involved, however you are the one who brought up the guild! By doing so you are bringing the guild's reputation into question. No one else did this but you. You involved the guild which involved me. I'm not making the situation worse, just trying to understand why you even mentioned the Shadows of Imphras at all.

A few things Dornax said:

All I am asking is that you not bring up a guild when one person does something you think is wrong.

Hmm.. I seem to recall that Lyt enjoys doing this alot when anything comes up about Folur and Darkstorm Rising.

Dartan posted the log because Fendoren was not truthful in telling his guildmates what actually occured, and this was an attempt to clear up any misconceptions. Fen did not believe us when we told him that Miax came down to deal with the problem, but that is between the him and the people involved.

What actions can be taken? If you want action, speak to Yayaril then perhaps the Gods if it means oh so much to you..

Again, the same could be said about Lyt whenever he had a problem with Folur instead of slamming the Folurites.

Hmm I wonder if I should mention Lyt again.. naah!

Oh? Well thank you I think? I don't recall calling you a liar.. I merely pointed out that one of your crew has made similar accusations in the past and I was lumped in even when I had nothing to do with it.

if a bunch of people in that guild and outsiders hearing rumors, sending tells to EACH person while i'm busy isn't the smartest thing to do. and if u knew the whole case, I told the whole guild b/c their leader just put a ban on dsrising and they were wondering why. I could have titled "Why Fendoren is a dumbass", but i wasn't aiming to hurt Fendoren, I was aiming at answering everyone's question all at once. now don't you think attacking me was a bit incorrect w/out knowing the whole situation? and if you have a problem with it, why not just send 25 tells to each one of our members instead of posting here?

Heh i go to work 5 days a week. I'm 26 and everyone else is over 50 and they are all men working in a high end photo retail store.

that many old men together in one place = nursery. they are all a bunch of whiney babies who bitch, moan and live in the past...

then i read these boards and realize i dont have it so bad.

Original poster (forgot name sorry) - there were prob tons of ways to handle the situation, however it's been proven time and time again using the boards is the worst. no biggie really, you didnt slander anyone just wanted to bring it to the general populations attention that the bug really really needs to be fixed and that no one should abuse it from this day forward.

Jurdex - hindsight is 20/20. all anyone ever posts is how they should have done this or that, but i've seen you blow your top on the board too. i'm guilty of it, zrax is guilty of it (although he's been nicer lately which i respect) nearly everyone is guilty of it.

the population is too small for guilds.

Dark age of Camelot rocks! everyone should play this game!

Someone brought this to my attention on the mud today, and I feel it necessary to law down a few ground rules about disputes of this type:

1. This is an issue between mortals and mortal guilds. From a high level, it does not involve the staff as long as it is not used to Pkill or Cheat. Thus, do not bring the gods into it, resolve and fight it out amongst yourselves. This is part of the new Sojourn admin strategy versus the old Toril one. On Toril, during such disputes, we would hang all those involved and the players would happily blame all of their woes on the staff. On Sojourn 3, we let you cut each-others throats and simply enjoy the spectacle with popcorn, remaining free of blame. Image My point is, resolve mortal issues in the mortal realms.

2: Blibble should have petitioned as soon as he realized there was a bug. If he had done so, petitioned he was wrongfully tied up and as a result, was dragged and executed, the administrators could have intervened because the bug was in fact real.

3: The issue of using Justice to Pkill is one I do need to address. If a high level group is doing a major zone, and a player uses that time and opportunity to tie-up a key player and drag them away, I would consider that abusive. This is a judgement call situation in which You as players have to use good judgement. If I see someone going up to Jot and tieing up the groups top Rogue resulting in death or major issue, the admins will come down upon you for that. In ANY OTHER situation, its a player issue. So far, no one stepped over the line with this and I dont anticipate anyone doing it. However, Yayaril and everyone else consider yourself warned about using Tie/Drag as a mechanism for Pkill and major twinking. We will discuss this further among the staff, and if necessary, modify what I have just said based on our consensus if it differs. For the time being, the above ruling applies.

Aside from that, have at one another!
