Chaos Christmas

Hello.

Sorry about this newbie question, but I'm a bit confused about this chaos stuff.

Will there be any consequences for my character? I mean, will I loose exp if I die that day, will I loose my gear? Should I store all my gear before this starts? Should I rather create a new character to play around with so as not to mess with the old one?

All I hear is alot about pking and deaths...so I'm a little concerned about myself :)

Chaos is a time outside time. Nothing that happens then affects you long-term.

All pfiles (with all eq for every character, storage caches, etc.) are saved and backed up, then at the start of chaos the game is rebooted with pkill turned on and the immortals engage in various activities with the players etc.
After the chaos period is over the game is shut down briefly, and the backed-up pfiles from just before chaos are restored, the game rebooted, and torilmudding carries on as if nothing happened.

In some past chaos' playing a troll was somewhat beneficial due to thier hitpoints regen.

It gets very bloody.
