This is the game that Everquest was based on.

It's a text adventure game similar to the old Zork but this one is based on the AD&D Forgotton Realms theme. You move around freely and engage things that you see and figure out quests. For most, there is no single object to the game other than character development and accumulation of wealth. Some additional objectives are leading a guild, developing new areas for the MUD, etc.
