New spell set suggestion..

Thinking for illusionists and perhaps enchanters....


3rd circle spell
Force shield -
self only
perhaps give this spell a low % chance to 'shieldblock' degrading the spell with every hit ...kinda like a protective aura...or even partially block dammage..possibily make this more effective against riposte dammage

maybe give the glance message something like "A translucent shield of eerie green light surrounds him"


8th circle spell
Force Field -
self or others...
Increased version of 3rd circle...longer duration.. allowed to target others besides self...


with new combat tweaks...perhaps remove 'energy shield' or the armor type spells...and replace them with a more arcane force barrier to allow hits to be blocked by magic rather than effectively just lowering the armor class.... Most mages of fantasy fiction would just stand and continue casting if a swordsman were charging them...in hopes their magic would complete first...or defensive magic would be strong enough to hold..[/b]
