sharkskin minor? upgrade!

add 1 max dex to each sharkskin item. granting users of enough sharkskin eq +1 hit 8)

i think thats a minor upgrade atleast :p

Items can have a maximum of 2 stat effects on them. Which one do you propose they remove to make this viable, the HPs or the Dam?

I can live without the 8 hps thanks. Of course max_dex is useless to over half the rogue races so I don't see much reason for this.

Rogue skills aren't based on dexterity? (I know they are probably dexterity based skills, but dexterity might not have a _real_ effect on them)

steal
backstab
pick lock
dual wield
apply poison
disarm
switch opponents
circle
missile snare
detect trap
disarm trap
assassinate
garrote
unbind

anyhow, most of the "cool" utility skills are dexterity based. I was thinking that the addition of max_dex to sharkskin would make them a little more desirable to wear and add a bonus to those that chose to wear all sharkskin eq... like me :p. im not sure which races it would notch a dexterity hitroll for though, but that kind of change seemed minor to me. anyhow, tod's right. i havent seen an item with 3 effects so i guess this threads pointless :p

maxdex is COMPLETELY worthless.
It will be fixed in Toril 2.0.
Aremat group-says 'tanks i highly suggest investing 20 silver in training weapons from cm to cut down on the losing scales to shield'

That's a shame...

Be good if warriors were after max_str and max_agi to improve their tanking skills. Maybe even in max_wis and max_int made spells do more damage. Max_dex made rogues perform better, etc.

max dex can notch dexterity hitroll, im not asking for anything major. that's why im not asking for 5 max str to each item. it takes around 110 for grey elfs to notch hitroll once, 120 for twice. Plus any bonuses it might add to skills is a minor upgrade as well, if any (and extra dextrous hit consistency). its not COMPLETLEY worthless, just PRETTY MUCH worthless :p

at max, rogue skills are pretty much no fail anyways.

I was informed that if your race doesn't receive innate bonus attacks, such as human, halfelf, dwarf..etc that despite max_dex that would notch you to that 7 hitroll innate (what elves get and they rarely get bonus attack) you do not receive the extra attacks. What is the point of max_dex? -seriously...extra hitroll? So what! Halfings are gods vs other races with dex. My halfling fails quite often and is pretty much max'd for being 43rd level. It's kinda embarassing

Yeah, max dex is the suck. I do, however, agree that sharkskin stuff, mostly the bracers needs an upgrade. You guys make the beholders harder to justify the stats on the 1k headband, which is #1 head item for a lot of folks, but the bracers stayed under the might of the wrist razor which is much easier to get and less time consuming. On top of that, the bracer has a large class restriction on it making the stats also seem under par. Take away the hps and make them3 dam after you fix the melee code :)

please dont take away the 8 hps, it uhm adds to the versatility of the class.. if sharkskin hps were removed id have 351 natural hps :p. id have to wear eldritches or something in zone, moan.

... Instead of what they are all wearing now? :)

They are all going to mostly look like clones of eachohter no matter what (at least the evil-algined rogues).
