I would like to veto any and all pictures on the BBS...they always get way to forkin big and gaudy. I hate having to wait 5 minutes for Bob, the anime freak and his page long avatars.

Thank you Raursh. I think I'd have to hurl if I opened up the BBS and had to trudge through a hundred different anime gimmicks used to foist useless merchandise in mind-numbing marketing campaigns. Isn't it bad enough that Nokie feels the urge to post his fantasy girl occasionally?

Nokie's myconid thing isn't an avatar. An avatar is a little 64x64 display right under your name on the left side.

I agree, long anime picture sigs with insipid japanese jokes are the worst.

BBS avatars are much more tolerable than the banner signatures that some people use in other message boards. Still, they can be a pain, especially since we don't really have a base set of images to offer as avatar icons (text based muds obviously can't whip up a set of sprites quickly) so people would have to create their own and then the gods have to make sure they're not inappropriate. And lots of small pictures are annoying as hell if you're on dialup and poking through here like I am

Your name is on the left. An avatar would be under it. From what I've seen the text loads b4 the avatars do anyways. Do not confuse it with a signature.
