Hunger/Thirst
Hunger/Thirst
It would be cool if Hunger / Thirst would be added as display toggles so they appear on the status line, similar to AFK.

As a caster the idea is kind of nice. I can't tell you how many times I sat down after a battle to mem, only to find out 5 minutes later that I never did start memming because I was hungry or thirsty. As was initially requested, this would be something that was toggable, so you could continue to see the "You are getting hungry" messages or just have it show up on the command line.

Well, I was thinking that it woul dbe a display toggle that would only show up if you were hungry/thirsty...
And if you had the display toggle OFF, you would still get the normal hunger/thirst messages.
Either way, it'd be easy to write triggers for, but the display prompt would be less spammy than the current messages.
Still, thinking about it...certainly not a high priority, but cutting down some spam could be cool, no?

Yeah, basically like a big red flashing sign that says: You can't mem! You need food dummy!

Although I'm happy the way it is, the prompt idea would be a nice addition for those that prefer it. I'd use it. As for color, one should not assume that everyone can see the mud's ANSI. Some ppl actually play in monochrome
As a caster, it would really piss me off when I wasted my mem time for the first spell b4 getting the hungry/thirsty message. Now, of course, as a ranger, that is like 55 seconds for my top circle *puke* so I think having a message displayed RIGHT when you start memming that says "You can't (memorize/pray) when you're this (hungry/thirsty)!" would be really cool.
My druthers... ideally? Both. If only one? The prompt.

hmm,
what about a new line in score for like a hungry and thirsty status bar, showing how close to being hungry/thirsty you are, sort of like xp bar, but this would count down from not hungry to hungry...
Hunger: >>>>>>> Thirst: >>>
When no more >, time to eat/drink :)
So, if you have to afk or whatever, you could type score...Hey, i better eat/drink before i go afk while I mem or I need to eat before this 20 min fight start
dunno, i just like seeing counters and stuff :)

I likes it. Would be a toggle, so if you don't like it, don't use it. No shoving down throats :P I would like it however. This or the message when you sit and try to pray/mem.
Oh, btw. When you sit down to mem, and type mem, you can tell if you start or not, because at the bottom it says "You continue your studies." If yer hungry or thirsty, that won't show up. Run a trigger off of that or something.

Er, maybe I'm missing something, but in the previous version of bards, when virtuoso failure made one thirsty (no matter how recently you'd had a drink), I had an alias for each song whereby I automatically drank before trying to start to sing. Casters haven't set up an alias "foo = drink, eat, rest, & mem"?

Said it afore, say it again. You can live off ale. At any given time, unless I get put to sleep by damn trapped chests, I have blood in my alestream, rather than ale in my bloodstream. Much as it should be. Ale is goooooood, slakes the thirst and satiates the tum.
