human innates

Postby moritheil » Sun Sep 29, 2002 9:36 pm

Hey, I was reading the troll innate thread, and I was thinking.

Humans are versatile, right? So why don't we add a human innate? Give it to human warriors only (the others are too specialized). For every trick they've seen, give them a base 1% chance of replicating it, and scale it with level (5% at level 50). Then let it all depend on their luck in combat. So on a good round whilst spamming commands, we could see human warriors drag doom sneak/hide and double backstab!

Special dedication to Corth: 3nj0y!

Starting in wd > infra, regen, and bodyslam?!

And are the drow's supperior intelligence considered an innate ability? And they get to start in DK. Wow, life is good for the drow! (/sarcasm)

Some of us have innate studlyness.. but it certainly isn't a universal characteristic of our race!

I say we just give humans innate pfs and pfm. I'll go back to playing my paladin if you do that, honest.

whats so good about starting in wd again?
Justice kinda nerfs it, some of the better exp spots in the outerlying areas got nerfed. Bloodtusk is just as central if not better placed by great exp zones.

And i've played in DK.. that place is one huge exp meatgrinder :P the only disadvantage the evils have is not having enough people to take advantage of the cool exp there.

Baseline stats?.. Thats not really an innate. In the end I'm pretty sure each race has the same potential for stats. ie: humans just get +0 to all, whereas an elf has -1 str -1 con, +1 int +1 dex. (numbers are an example, the minuses in stats on all the races are evened out by positives)

On top of that they get innate abilities. infravision, outdoor sneak, regeneration, doorbash, enlarge, levitate, faerie fire, invisibility, etc..
