Check Pres Time

Postby Sarell » Wed Jan 08, 2003 5:30 pm

How about making something so that you can check how long a corpse is pressed for. Perhaps when you examine it while you have detect magic up? Or if you identify it. Just would be very handy...

examine sarell

You see nothing special...
It looks to be magically preserved for approxmately 11 hours.
When you look inside, you see:
Corpse of Sarell (here) :
a few coins
a partially eaten a goodberry
a partially eaten some iron rations (illuminating)

somewhat twinky imho. say someone saw a fully eq'd corpse that was pres'd. they could just watch the timer and wait for the eq.

-edit- and obviously it should be made so that the only person who can see how much time is left on a corpse is the owner of the corpse... Nobody else needs to know that for any reason whatsoever.

Nogs, I don't see anything wrong with letting the owner know.

'Nobody else needs to know that for any reason whatsoever'

Actually this is exactly why I wanted it. So If I walked into morgue and noticed someone corpse was going to rot in an hour i could give it some more.

Someone watching an EQed corpse waiting for it to rot? If you have an EQed corpse in a place that couldn't be CRed or pressed in this day and age, then I wish someone would loot mine when it rots and get some bonus gear rather than it all poofing.

Maybe the in-room description of the corpse could give some sort of indication of when it will rot.

for example:

A corpse is 'minutes' away from rotting:
"Corpse of Elendur is lying here with maggots crawling out of the mouth and falling apart. (magic)"

A corpse is 'hours' away from rotting:
"Corpse of Elendur is lying here and it looks to be in poor shape. (magic)"

A corpse is 'days' away from rotting:
"Corpse of Elendur is lying here. (magic)"

A corpse is a very long time from rotting (landmark?):
"Corpse of Elendur is lying here and looks to be prefectly preserved. (magic)"
