Surprise Encounters

It truly was a pity, that the great monoliths of Selune's
prophecy were gone. Their message wasn't truly needed
any longer, though there are always threats of annihilation
to be heeded, lessons learned in the distant past that the
youth of today could stand to benefit from. But Selune's
monuments would not be here to help teach. With a heartfelt
sigh, I leaned against a snowbank where the great stone had
stood its sentinel.

I don't know how long I rested there, I likely dozed off for
a time. It happens, more and more often at my age and after
the many revels in my day, I consider it my way of catching
up. Anyway, I'm rambling now. That happens more and more
also, and how can that be a bad thing, to hear a bard on his
discourse?

Ahem, yes where was I. The ground where I rested began to
shake beneath my feet, and I feared the onrushing embrace
of an avalanche. I fell to the snow, sprawling helplessly
as before my eyes a great vision arose, a massive crested
head of azure and pearl colors intermingled. Small spikes
of ice seemed to hang from the snout lined with glittering
sharp teeth, and a pair of crimson orbs gazed down at me
with draconic disdain.

I was pressed down into the snow by the force of his snout
as it was pressed against me. Then the pressure was gone,
and I was showered with snow as he shook the rest of the
snow from his gleaming body. "You do not owe me gold yet.
Where are those 'heroes' who do? I WANT MY GOLD!" My ears
ringing from the force of his bellow, I watched in stupefied
silence as he lifted into the air and flew south.

Ohhhhh young one.

Tis my suggestion you look for him as he's cranky enough.

You seem to favor Waterdeep as your home. Do you really want to have to explain to the Lord of Waterdeep why a white drake is attacking the city looking for his gold?

I sure wouldn't, hence my travels to the north to find him first.
