Problems with the BBS?

Postby Braggo Boulderbasher » Tue Oct 07, 2003 5:44 am

Is anyone else having problems with the bbs? When I log in, I can't see any posts except from last Friday and Saturday until I click go to show all of the new posts. Is this something that I have set wrong? shrug

I have to do a force refresh to see any new posts... A usual refresh has no visible effect for me ("Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.4b))

I have to force refresh also...
Having said all that, the situation has been handled, so this thread is pretty much at an end. -Kossuth

Yeah I've had to force refresh and clear my browser cache a couple times. It worked fine this morning though.

On my own PC, this BBS seems to cause my MSIE window to hang quite often (win98se, MSIE 5.5, etc).
Works fine on new WinXP environments by the looks though.
I'll tweak some settings, change the skin etc. and examine it more.

Haven't had any problems with this since I was able to use the domain name. When using the IP i'd have to force refresh to log in and such. Looks like its working (for me at least, who cares about the rest of ya) now.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that it's a cookie problem: the cookie probably contains the symbolic address (www.torilmud.org) while you are accessing it via the ip address (67.119.35.125/). With that mismatch it's not able to identify the last time you were here, and update the pages properly... Remember this is just a guess. Had this been an actual answer...

Eilorn.
Now, we can do this the hard way, or... well, actually there's just the hard way.

this cookie problem is most likely related to the fact that the time is couple hrs off.
Mud thinks its 12:51 when its really 15:29.

*bah* forget I ever spoke these words (edited)

But still could somebody with access (or somebody that is able to alert those with access) pleace change the time of the server system clock? I'm sure you could save some bandwith from the bbs usage if you do that ;)

Hrm, this is a 2-fold post:
1) to test if I can actually post to any thread atm, and
2) to indicate I have not been able to post a new message to the logs section tonight for the past couple of hours.
