I met my wife on A mud, not THIS mud.

We met back in '95 competed for a while, lost touch. Met again in '96 through a mutual RL friend (someone I grew up with and someone she met through other friends on the MUD) both of us using different names.

She was going to be in NM (where I lived at the time) visiting the friend that introduced us. I decided to come home that week-end. We went out on a date, but there were no sparks. We decided to give it another try, I went to NC to see her and ended up moving in together, but due to long work hours for me and her trying to keep grades up we parted ways again.

I then moved to PA and met another girl married her and spent 5 years there. We had a daughter and then she decided she liked my best friend more then me so we went our seperate ways. I then bumped into my mud-ex and within 5 months we were married.

We now own a house, have a child on the way and are getting ready to celebrate our 3rd anniversary.

Gratz to Ambar and Arilin...

As *name omitted as it is a dirty word here* said of Muma and I,

"Congratulations you two!

May you live long and eat your babies."

I wish you luck in your long-distance relationship... It's hard and hard work, but hopefully it won't be far away forever.

So when I started dating my wife, she was just starting a Medical Degree at the Warsaw Medical Academy, and I was just starting an English Degree in London. That's about 1000 miles.

You spend a lot of time on the phone. We used to write letters by dozen (and I mean that litereally, bearing in mind that in those days post between Eastern Europe and the UK was erratic at best, it could take 5-10 days for a letter to arrive, and some days I or she would get four or five letters in a single day:). When she finally got internet access after a couple of years (via a mainframe running VM/CMS at the University of Warsaw, with a mud client written in Rexx), we used to spend hours upon hours just stuck in front of the machines talking.

It used to be hard, as students to get together. I was doing any work I could get just to save up money for coaches to get to Poland (that's like a 30 hour coach ride each way, but at the time was far cheaper than flying). Librarian, Barman, Bouncer, Waiter, Cleaner, Gardener, and loads of others, not to mention various bits of programming work as and where I could get it. But...it was -so- worth it.

Nowadays, I travel a lot for work. Before we had children we used to go together if I was going somewhere interesting - but now, when I have to go I go alone usually. But then I compare it to what it was like acutally -living- over a thousand miles apart, and it seems like nothing.

So I guess what I'm saying is, that it does work out. If you care for each other enough, if there is nothing more important to you in life than that other person, it will work out. Really. Hell, we've been married for over 6 years now, have a 2 year old son and twins due in December. Not bad for a relationship that started over 14 years ago, and much of the first six or seven years was conducted mainly over the net :)

Check again. I heard about special air fairs for buying your ticket now but flying later in the year. Something like 99 bucks if you fly in december but schedule it now. I forget which airlines it was. But look into it.

Snort. I make her get the shot, so we don't have to worry about that.
(You know, till she lies and says she took it just to force me to have a baby with her and keep the relationship alive!)..er.. yeah. Hi.

hrrm actually tank you sesexe i will look into it ... 99$ is far better than the 350 i was looking at :(

tho the original price was decent even though i only got it (well michael got it for me and used my info to purchase it) ... got 4 days at the courtyard mariott and airfare fro 753 total ..

turns out there was a military discount we could have abused and gotten the *spa room* at nearly the same price ... ahh wicked thoughts .. anyway ...

so .. shooting blanks .. he better not :P i got plans for a couple years down the road :P as for now ... um no :) im greedy .. i want some tiem with just him and me first!

I just wanted to make it entirely clear that the "nancing" Ambar is hinting at is no kind of "nancing" I would be familiar with when it comes to Michael, love him though I do.... just in case there was any question in anybody's mind, whatsoever!

Dang Jen, don't spoil the nance for me.

The question is who hit on you over the years, Kifle (thinking you were a girl)?
