No = No, unless there are facts you haven't revealed to me, so if you need to make a better case you'd better get on it, and don't piss me off with anything I've already heard, either.
Maybe = Maybe... yes if my mood swings that way, no if my mood swings the other way... or maybe I want my answer to be "yes" but I feel some other compulsion holding me back, so if you work harder I might say "yes" but then again, I might get really annoyed that you keep pestering me over it and change my answer to a "no, now go die" or maybe I wanted my original answer to be a "no" but there's something about you that makes me not want to reject you, so if you keep pestering me about it, eventually I'm going to have to end up telling you the truth that I see you as a highly unattractive spineless jellyfish with the sexual appeal of a washed-up squid rotting in the hot sun on a polluted beach, and I want to say "yes" about as much as I want a painkiller-free tooth extraction. Are we clear on "maybe?"
