I'm hesitant to post this thread, but here it is.

The greatest tribute to this man's life would be simply to tell you about it.

Amen. Christian or not, this is a loss for the whole world. He was a great man and I pray he can find peace now.

I'm one that usually detests a lot of what the Catholic church does and stands for, but this Pope did do some great things...

Wonder who's gonna be filling his shoes?

Interesting that his successor chose the name he did. In a way, he wasn't paying tribute, and in a way, he was.

As a sedevacantist, I am able to honour the memory of a good man, but I cannot call him a good Pope.

I can agree that he was not a 'good Pope' in may ways/points of views.

But if a good man does not make for a good Pope...

Slivangtists just beleive he isn't a pope, thats why Xisqoumer says he can't call him pope.

Personally I'm not a sedawi.

One of the things Johannes Poul II publicised in the 1990s was that the earth now is round. The world has not always been round because someone that was a pope said it was flat. (and popes are never wrong). Well, by some freak accident it is round now.

Back to the thread: gr8 pope.
