and you won't, Amber, unless you're hearing it from Yasden himself. :)

Hsoj: merde sounds close to "mierda", which means "shit". Merde could be a different dialect though.

P.S. Jenera, sorry if we've hijecked this thread! Perdonanos, porfavor!!

move = muevate

or

Move as in, moving to a new home = use the spanish word "mudo"

se mudo a su nueva casa? = he/she moved to his/her new house?

the word move in spanish can be said in many different ways and in many different context.

but ya, anyway, back to food talk people! or your going to start owing me some money, who knows, I can make some extra cash and really go to that gathering at this rate! *wink*

I told you how you can make extra cash and come!!

But yeah, my spanish is a bit screwy as far as grammar I think. I'm still in the process of learning, unfortunately; so, I try to use it whenever I can.

Lol! basically I told her that she ought to make her little sister a whore and that she'll make lots of cash if she listens to me. Although, now that I look at it, it should have been hacer instead of haces :( my grammar blows :(

And I wasn't going to even translate that in english for what kifle said because it's a disrespectful joke! :(

The only puto around here is Kifle :P I could say that he should pimp his wife, mom, or sis (if he's got sisters) for cash and he can buy my plane ticket with it but still may not make enough cash like that, but hey, I'm not that low and have respect for families.

p.s. I doubt Jenera appreciates where this thread is going, so send me PMs if you want to "joke" with me some more, Kifle! I think I am done here. I don't want to derail the original topic like we've been doing. =p Unless she likes it to get bumped that way. ;)

Mierda (Spanish) =
Merda (Italian) =
Merde (French)

Just for clarification, Merde is NOT another dialect of Spanish :-) Unless you are considering French a dialect of Spanish, of course :-)

Ok, I've had enough of my thread turning into Spanish 101 and talk about herpes.

Might as well say it, yeah the wedding is back on.
The only reason I cancelled anything was because I had a dozen people telling me how I should be doing things. I got tired of people telling me I was wrong when I said I wanted to do things a certain way.

Just to let you all know, the gathering is planned, the wedding is planned, and prepared for and the only thing I need to do now is put aside money little by little to get the food, my dresses made, and everything else. No suggestions. I will let people cook since I will probably be going crazy with wedding preparations, I won't be kicking people out of my kitchen and doing everything by myself. I will accept help when the time comes, hell, you guys can even donate to the fund if you want, I don't care.

Just letting you all know that everything is back on. I hope the entire mud attends, every mudder is welcome in my home. I'll be posting attendance lists starting sometime in March, getting addresses and phone numbers a little later than that. A lot of you know how it goes. I would love for my wedding picture to be a huge mud crowd all around me. I'd hang it on my wall with so much pride. Enjoy!

$10 bucks on Dranix to take out Kifle when Jenera gives the word. I won't give odds for characters, but IRL if anybody wants to back Kifle at 2 to 1, I've got it :P

Disclaimer: Since this is not a betting site, I'm not really putting odds out there. However, Vegas has Kifle as a 10-1 underdog :p

Bleh, at some point tonight I should prolly go to sleep.

Ok, someone gave me this idea today and I'm not sure how well it would work but considering so many people want to help me cook for wedding/gathering, I thought I'd throw this up in the air and see what you folks think.

I was originally planning to get some vegetable and fruit trays made, buy some burgers and hot dogs in bulk and have a picnic style reception. I've budgetted a certain amount of money to do so.

Now here's the idea.

I know I'll be busy as hell running around taking care of last minute wedding details. Would the people who offered to cook like to get together, plan some kind of menu for the meet and greet and the wedding and cook for it? Make a lot of appetizer type things perhaps? You'd have full run of my kitchen, if it's something exotic or fancy, you'd have to bring the ingredients yourselves because getting certain ingredients in the indiana area is either impossible or very costly. I can reimburse you for ingredients if they aren't way too expensive and wouldn't ask for donations unless you forced it on me.

What do you guys think?

that sounds fine by me, that's one less thing we have to worry about :P and as for whomever decides to do some cooking, one bit of advice, finger foods seem to go over great with this bunch :P
At least for the meet and greet..

I actually got a batch mailed to my house too, mine came with fake poop and a few other necessary supplies.

Sotana's cookies arrived that Monday afternoon, the awful fog we got during the gathering meant no mail. If Sotana is unable to make it to this gathering, I'll make my chewy milk/white chocolate swirled chip cookies. I don't know whether because they were mailed, or whether she just makes them that way, but it seems Sotana makes harder cookies than I do, my cookies are crispy on the edges and chewy and gooey in the middle. Hers reminds me of the regular chips a hoy cookies while mine are more similar to the chewy variety.

Ok, so I have one taker for making a bunch of appetizers for the gathering and the wedding.

This is how the gathering would go. Everyone would start arriving on Friday, though since I've chosen Duna and Ashiwi as my maid of honor and bridesmaid respectively, I'd hope they could there a couple of days earlier to run through the wedding with them.

The meet and greet would last all day on Friday, people can pick at food, talk, drink, get to know each other. This was very successful at the last one. At the last gathering, I got everyone together on Saturday and we all went to Fort Wayne to do a little shopping and browsing at the mall and then we all took over the Golden Corral to eat supper. Duna and I also served breakfast that morning but that didn't go over well because it took too long. Trying to make bacon, eggs, and biscuits for 30 people on one frying pan didn't work and plus everyone was too tired or too hungover to eat. Afterwards I got everyone together in the house to sign the banner and then we all trooped over to the bar. That didn't turn out well and that will be omitted from the next gathering.

If you want to spend a 100 dollars at the bar, it's up to you, and if you end up in jail in a different state, you take responsibility for your own actions.

Instead of going out on Saturday, I would hope everyone attends my wedding and stays for the reception. Sunday is goodbye day, getting everyone on their flights or in their cars and seeing them off. Derek and I hope to leave on our honeymoon on Monday afternoon.

Of course, just like last time, anyone is welcome to stay in my home if they want to save 150 dollars on a weekend of hotel stays. If you plan to fly, I'd need to know what time you'd be getting here and which of the two airports you'd be arriving at. If you're driving, I would hope you have a cell phone or something for me to get in touch with you to make sure you are getting here ok. If you are taking the train, the only train station you can arrive at is in South Bend so I'd have to know if you're going to rent a car or need picked up, etc. I would suggest that those who intend to fly talk to each other and maybe pick a time that is close to one another like Larble and Talsor did last time, or if you're driving, to pick up people on your way through the states and split the gas so more people can come. You are quite welcome to bring significant others with you or friends, I would just hope they wouldn't feel out of place around a whole mess of geeks.

The mud has been my only family for many many years, I hope all of you attend. I would love nothing more than to take a big group picture of my family at my wedding. If you have any skills or talents that think I can utilize as this is a budget wedding, let me know. These are the volunteers I have so far.

Bartender/Grillmaster: Jalahon
Queen of Embroidery: Sotana
Personal Seamstress: Ashiwi
Florist: Osheara
Head Cook: Duna
Photographer: Nokie

If anybody is good at sculpting or minature work, I would love it if someone out there can make little minatures or a cake topper for me. I was hoping to have a mage dressed in red and a druid dressed in greens and browns, but I know nothing about that stuff, so it's up in the air.

Just to reiterate, the gathering for 2006 will be held August 4th-6th. I will be starting to get a full list of people attending starting around March, I would suggest that would be a good time to start looking at travel costs.

I'm still looking for more cooks, people to help me set up the reception tables etc. I won't be hiring a DJ, probably will just have a stereo out there with some CDs. If someone wants to be the one to volunteer to keep music playing, that would be appreciated.

If you need some specific information, you can always private message me or email me at jeneradarkthorne@comcast.net, ICQ me at 78950306, or private message me through the bbs.

For those of you flying, unfortunately, northern Indiana airports are too small so no flights come in past midnight and doesn't support Southwest airlines. In order to use Southwest, you'd have to fly into Midway Airport in Chicago and rent a car and drive the 2.5 hours to northern Indiana.

I hope this cleared up some questions.
