Just wanted to start a thread for poker stories. Bad beats, nice catches, big pots, etc.

---------------
At Hawaiian Gardens.

NL table 100 buyin
AA raised 10
Player A reraised to 25
Player B calls, everyone elses fold
I re-raise to 50
Player A goes all in for $87
Player B calls
I'm all in with my last $130
Player B calls

Player A has QQ
Player B has AJ

Flop was Q 10 8 Player A hit his trips :(
Turn was K Player B hit his straight, now I'm drawing dead :(
River was Q Player A hit quads, he got the big pot, Player B took the side

What a bad bad day

I bluffed some guy out of his high flush one time then showed him my three sevens. He was mad; I won a huge pot. I then found myself on the bad end of a very powerful vendetta.

If you were able to bluff someone out of a strong flush then they're not too bright anyway.

Depends on the betting. I bet strong off the bat when three spades dropped. Since he followed, he thought I had the flush when I only had a pair of 7's. He had jack high flush..however, that was the highest spade. Another seven dropped and I just continued betting as if the thread of 3 sevens didn't bother me, so again, he thought I had the flush...especially with quick, nonchalant betting. Nothing dropped on the last card, and bet. He raised and I went all in quickly. That's how you bluff somebody out of a high flush :)

I've only played poker once, it was at a friend's place before heading to a Magic pre-release.

One hand I had pocket threes, and got a three on the flop. My opponent for that hand was rather disgusted to see his pocket aces lost to a set of threes.

Near the end of the game, however, there was a bit of ironic turnaround. This hand *I* had the pocket aces. I had been doing well and bet heavily (well, it was only a 5$ buyin... but those quarters were heavy!) only to lose to..... what? A set of threes.

Was pretty fun, I went in with 5$ and cashed out with 5$. Heh.

Best hand I wasn't in.

I had crap, like a 6-3 unsuited. They bet big so I fold out before flop.

Flop 5,2,4

Woulda had a straight in 5 cards. Pissed.

The 2 remaining both bet big again.

Turn is a 4.
Small stack goes all in.
Big stack sees him.

Small stack pair of 4's in pocket, 4 4's.
Big stack pair of 5's in pocket, fullhouse 3 5's 2 4's

River... 4th 5.

4 4's loses to 4 5's, either of which kicks my flopped straight's ass that I woulda bet big. Not so pissed.

Funniest casino thing I ever saw.

Table next to me was Carribean Stud. Guy picks up the Royal, dealer fails to qualify.

Guy ripped the cards in half and threw them to the sides, landing on our table. Needless to say the casino was a bit perturbed.

HAHAHAH! I think I would have shat myself in that situation. I have yet to see an actual royal flush except on video game poker. To get that hand in that situation would have made my brain explode from pure anger and cruel irony.
