Most of the beers I have tried and recall and can rate:

Beck’s is good.
Bintang is ok.
Budweiser is poor.
Blue Tongue is poor.
Carlsberg Elephant Beer is nice.
Carlton Cold is great.
Carlton Draught is nice.
Cascade Premium Lager is very nice.
Coopers Sparkling Ale is very nice.
Corona is very nice only with a fresh slice of lime.
Crown Lager is very nice.
DAB Original is very nice.
Fosters is sh*t.
Grolsch is very nice.
Guiness is very nice.
Hahn Ice is good.
Hahn Premium Lager is very nice.
Heineken Lager is very nice.
James Squire Original Pilsner is very nice.
Kent Old Brown is good.
Kokanee is ok.
Lowenbrau is very nice.
MB is good.
Miller Draft is ok.
Molson Canadian is ok.
Powers Bitter is good.
Redback is average at best.
Reschs Pilsner is good.
Sheaf Stout os ok.
Singha is good.
Speights is very nice.
Tooheys New is average at best,
Tooheys Dry is good.
Tooheys Old is the elixir of the gods.
Tusker Premium is good.
VB is very nice.
XXXX is sh*t.
XXXX Gold is ok.

All of the above applies only when the beer is icy cold, except for Guiness which can be real good even when not icy cold.
A glass/pint of guiness seared in the centre for a second or two with a very hot fire poker is delicious.

A fresh icy cold schooner of Tooheys Old with a good shot of Stones in it owns all.

Beer in no particular order:
Fat Tire
Singletrack
Smithwick's
Harp
Sierra Nevada Porter
Breckenridge Brewery Avalance Pale Ale (I like all Breckenridge stuff)
Red Hook IPA (or just about anything by Red Hook except the Winter Ale)
Shiner Blonde
Rogue Dead Guy Ale
Black and Tans (using Harp, not Bass)
Flying Dog of many varieties
Yuengling

I've also been known to favor Coors Light, PBR, or Miller High Life when I don't particularly care to get drunk or spend a lot of money when out at the bar or drinking in the woodshop on a hot day. I absolutely will not drink regular Miller Lite or Michelob Golden Draft(light). Ever.

Cocktails:
Bloody Mary (my own mix)
Bloody Bull (my own mix)
Morgan Coke
Lord Coke
A nice glass of 10-12 year single malt scotch on the rocks

Also a ? for you Aussies that appears to be at least partially validated by Ssar's post. Does anyone in Australia drink Fosters, or is it considered to be the Schmiddt or Glick's of Australia? We got into an argument one night in the bar about this. I claimed it was just a clever advertising campaign.

Fat tire is fucking awesome.

I am partial to Warsteiner, Newcastle, Moose Drool, Guinness(draft only), Boddington's and McEwan's.

I like Eclipses(1/2 guinness, 1/2 blue moon).

I love jack daniels... in any imbibible form.

Alize, Grand Marnier and Lambic Frambouis(it's french, I have no fucking clue how to spell it, mmmm raspberry).

Best drink evar: 32oz glass, over 1/3 ice
2 shot Malibu
2 shot vodka(preferably absolut(don't waste grey goose in a damned mixed drink))
2 shot clear rum
fill to 3/4 w/ Oj
fill to full w/ pineapple
splash o' cream for smoothness

Sit back and get sloooooooowww drunk. Great for a sunny day at the beach alone.

Shabadoo.

Yeah, Foster's Lager is widely considered by the general population to be a weak, pissy beer.

It used to be more widely drunk by general folks 15 or so years ago much earlier in it's history (but still not huge).
Nowadways it is rarely stocked on tap (in kegs in the cool rooms etc) at most clubs and pubs.

I actually drank it a few times in a strong shandy when I was underage (half foster's, half lemonade (that's a sweet clear soda for you yanks)) and it was ok then.

It's popularity overseas as a prime aussie beer is completely based on marketing, and aggressive promotion of it about a decade ago as such etc.

VB (Victorian Bitter) and Tooheys New are by far the 2 most popular beers in Australia, and Crown Lager is very widely accepted as the most popular nicer "next bracket" more expensive beer.

Beer sucks.

Wine is my thing. Eschol Ranch cabernet 89 = yum

Greg Norman blends are always good.

Cuvee de la Luna anything is awesome and worth the price.

Has anybody tried Pig's Ass? It is usually sold right along with Moose Drool. Word of advice. . .never ever ever mix the two, or if you do, make sure you don't switch between the two. It can get ugly :)

Edit: If you get a chance, try Lightning Boy. It is a microbrew from Bozeman MT area that is pretty damned good :)

Bloody Mary (extra spicy)
Bombay Sapphire Martini (3 olives, dirty, extra dry)
Caucasian (thanks, Gary)

right?

i had been nursing a whiskey sour for an hour, constantly refillin' it w/ mixer or whiskey as i got to the part 30 mins early... the hosts boyfriend fixes me up a liquid cocaine... i remembered the next 10 mins, and found myself sprinkled w/ vomit in bed the next morning. I guess in the course of the night I had went outside to swim in the river but was thwarted 78923749 times by those who had my best interests at heart... needless to say I had to call the next day to make sure my behavious was up to snuff, guess i made some girl cry

When I used to drink heavily, I loved Red Devils, Long Island Iced Tea, and Blackberry Brandy mixed with lemon iced tea. As for beer, I liked to drink Corona and Heineken. Loved peach frozen margaritas with a sugar rim on hot summer days.

I rarely drink these days, but I like I nice glass of sweet red wine from time to time and vodka crans.

Are you not in the US, or is that the States version of absinthe? I've always wondered what real absinthe was like.

And gawd do I love Buttershots. It's candy in a bottle, though, so I rarely get to enjoy it.

I was being a smart alek before..

Beer: Can't stand the stuff, though I will drink Smirnoff Ice/Twisteds for Malt beverages, or New Belgium Brewery's Blue Paddle if I'm really desperate.

Shots: Ardbeg 17 year old Scotch (The look on Fen's face was priceless). Did Tequilla in NM on a bet. *shudder*

Mmm.. Cocktails:
White Russians
Buttery Nipples
Cosmos
Crown and DP
Mudslides
and a few others with names I'm not mentioning on a public forum. *grin*

Well for beers, Guiness rules all!! I also like Corona, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Sam Addams is pretty good.

Now when it comes to cocktails.....

I can live off of Long Islands
Girl Scout Cookies (tastes just like thin mints)
We had a house special drink called a Jenny's Bi*ch
1 1/2 ounce vodka
1 1/2 ounce rum
1 1/2 ounce gin
Top off with orange juice and a splash of grenadine

And a good 'ole shot of good tequila never hurts either =P

i think the truth lies within his use of the word good twice. Good tequila is wonderful. The rest is for mixed drinks

I didn't know there was a US made Absinthe. Thought it was illegal to produce here. All the stuff i have had is European. Actually my roomate spends like anywhere from $80-200 to import his Absinthe. He's had so many different kinds from Spain, Italy, France, Sweden, Switzerland...i lost track of all the stuff he's burned thru. Presently he is finishing off his 4th bottle of Absinthe Cannibus from somewhere in Europe.
Just don't drink the stuff straight. Man what a burn.
