My wife and I plan to relax and watch a few movies this long weekend at home and I was wondering if anyone had some good recommendations for movies that are available on DVD. Recent movies or oldies, I don't care. Movies that you feel are worth seeing. We don't go out to the movies much now after we had our first child, so recent movies are also highly possible. Thanks.

Good Movies..
Momento, Dark City, Shawshank Redemption, Equalibrium.
Spaceballs, Little Shop of Horrors(original or new, though I always prefer steve martin and rick morranis)
All time favorite - Blazing Saddles.
If you like the style, could watch Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon or Hero.
Scarface, Pulp Fiction, Bubba Ho-tep.
There's a ton but that's a few to name.

Not sure if its out yet on DVD but Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy was a pretty decent move that came out recently. Million Dollar Baby was excellent. I second Arilin's Scarface. I liked Ray also...

The Boondock Saints.
So long as you don't mind the F-bomb and like a good action flick.

The Butterfly Effect was fun to watch :) or something along that style was a more recent movie called 'The Jacket' With Arien Brody and Keira Knightley. It was a GREAT movie.

I'll second this one.
Also: the machinist, blackhawk down, we were soldiers, the longest yard (new version), dirty work, screwed, tons of others that people have already mentioned.
I feel your pain though. I haven't seen a movie in the theaters in around two years :(
Also, I think I saw the pacifier mentioned...Vin Disel + kid premis = bloody anus. Watch with caution.

Pacifier was cute.
Hmm.. The new Batman was Okay.. they REALLY messed with alot of the background.
LOTR extended is a weekend by itself...
This was seriously the year of the remakes.. it would be nice if people would like get creative again.
Cheaper by the Dozen was cute, and *sigh* They just HAD to make a sequel.
I think my all time fave family movie for the year (2004) was "The Incredibles." New Storyline, enough adult humor to entertain, and GREAT taglines. *grin*
"Bob, would you help the carnivore cut his meat?" "What are you waiting for?" "I dunno.. something AMAZING!" "Me too kid."

While travelling and staying in a hotel, I saw a movie on on one of the premium channels about a failing team of vacuum salesmen who decided to re-cast their product as a sex toy for woman, by reversing the air flow of the curtain suction tube...
I don't know what it was called.
But please...don't watch it. Ever.
This has been a public service announcement.
