Help update Todrael's Lair

Postby Todrael » Wed Apr 19, 2006 10:05 pm

Since people still use <a href="http://lich3.home.comcast.net/">Todrael's Lair</a>, I would like to update the guides. I don't play any more, so I'm far out of the loop on what the mud's like nowadays. If you'd like to help, please look over the site and send any changes or corrections to me at <a href="mailto:biologic@gmail.com">biologic@gmail.com</a>

I'd also like to mention that the 'official guides' on the main TorilMUD page are far more out of date than mine, and should be removed.

Add these two new skills to the psi guide under skills please:

Level 42

Telekinetic Thrust - Telekinetic Thrust is the most damaging single-target skill a Psionicist acquires. It has a chance of disrupting a target's spellcast. The likelihood of disruption increases as your skill in Telekinetic Thrust increases.

Level 46

Wormhole - Wormhole opens a portal between the Psionicist and a dark, teleportable target on the same Plane of existence. This skill is a quest skill.

Edit:

-"If you are failing shift, check the visibility and shiftability of the target." to "If you are failing shift or wormhole"

and remove:

- the "most damaging skill" description from Detonate (Level 9 skill)

- all comments about the old Globe of Darkness bugs, they seem to have been fixed entirely (under "Tips and Tricks")
Thus spake Shevarash: "Invokers are not going to be removed"

I just read a few of the guides, and stuff I have always disagreed with is still wrong I think. (ie Yuan warrior could most likely perform very well).

The bard guide is very well, especially in the two areas that matter. When to use an instrument, and the important difference between quality and stutter. (eg. stutter does not do anything when you sing renew, only quality).

Well, I just wanted to post a link, but since im in the mood im gonna post a few:

Todraels lair:
http://mywebpages.comcast.net/lich3/

if you have a popup blokker
Yarash's Mages Sanctuary (got a nice map of scardale)
http://members.tripod.com/~mjsbbs/ms/ms.html

the 3 west cartoons (sadly the originals at the original site was moved)
www.threewest.com

Minthur's maps
http://craigbb.home.insightbb.com/index.html

Besides that a lot of guilds have websites.

To be fair to Cherzra, tail eq was terrible when he wrote the Warrior guide.

-Updated main index.
-Added Elementalist guide.
-Updated Psionicist guide.

Anyone know if Yarash is still around? Wanted to ask about hosting his Scarsdale map, but the email listed on his site bounced.

Seeing as how it took a few mere hours to write both the warrior and newbie guide, minor modifications to reflect changes to the MUD since then seem inconsequential. Have they not been updated since inception? That's what, 3 years ago?

Cherza, I extensively updated the newbie guide a while after you wrote it. With the eq changes as the culmination of a series of unfortunate events, I basically lost interest in the mud. So none of the guides have been updated since then, despite the large number of changes to the game.

I'm still looking for volunteers who know the game, and their class, to send me information that would be useful to include in the guides.
