I had already told a few people from who I needed some advice from, but I figure I should finally tell everyone. Yup, I'm preggers, almost 3 months in. No I don't know what sex it is and I've been labeled high-risk pregnancy so it may turn out that I don't keep it, but I'm awash with optimistic feelings right now and so very excited. So since I adopted all of you guys as my family long ago, all of you aunts and uncles out there, there will be another addition to the Darkthorne family. You all have to visit me to rub my belly or come visit the baby when it's born. :)

Much to the sadness of Derek and I, I miscarriaged last week. I was approximately 15 weeks along, so the doctor said. To those of you who supported us, was happy for us, and lent me your shoulder to cry on, thank you. I'm doing alright, weepy and emotional, but the doctor said I'm ok and there's no reason we shouldn't try again once we're ready. I believe that it just wasn't the right time for the pitter patter of little Darkthorne feet just yet. Thought I'd let everyone know. :(

I'm so sorry :( We had a miscarriage scare as well, it was one of the most anxious times my wife and I have had as a couple. The good news is that the statistics I've found said that a first-time miscarriage hasn't been linked to difficulty in future pregnancies.
