Sea Eagles win thier Preliminary Final 2007 Day!

Go you mighty Sea Eagles!

Great game against the Cowboys tonight - Manly have shown that they are building well through these finals, and are set to peak and really give it to thier opponents next week in the NRL GRAND FINAL!
(Go Eels tomorrow, to make it a classic Manly vs Parra GF!)

Today is the day I have secured (reasonable) tickets for my +1 & myself to the National Rugby League (NRL) Grand Final game this Sunday at Stadium Australia (Olympic Stadium) in Sydney.

RAR!

Should be awesome, cuz my team the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles are playing in it.

Kickoff 19:00 local (Sydney) time Sunday 30 Sept.

First National Rugby League Grand Final game I have ever attended.
The weather report at this stage is fine & clear that day - looks good.
Going to drink many beers, and cheer my team mightily!

Pretty cool metal concert.

Arch Enemy started around 7:30, were pretty energetic, sounded OK. Thier moshpits started working OK, but not overly heavy.
Their sound level seemed a tad low for my liking, but I was hoping that that was somewhat by design whereby the sound levels and volume increased to peak mightily for the headlining band a bit later.

Trivium were pretty impressive, the volume was louder, thier intensity was great, thier moshpits started working more.

The night/event belonged to the headliners Machine Head though, as it should.
The volume and intensity peaked - they were impressively loud through much of thier set (quite the statement from me), and geez did the moshpit really fire and go off!
The most brutal and energy-intensive moshpit I have ever been in, even surpassing those at the Hordern Pavilion when Machine Head supported Slayer, and when Hatebreed Supported Slipknot, a few years ago there. The circlework was amazing! And the ensuing moments of chaos were quite the experience.
A bit too much aggression in there too, tho much of it not malice-filled, so it was still cool.
I hit the deck a few times too - most I have ever been down.. Getting old, heh.
"Ten Ton Hammer" was the pick of the (songs they played for the) night - well-deserved too!

They didnt play an encore unfortunately - something I think should almost always be done by the headliners. Course, this would have been due to the time constratints applied by the organizers of the event/Luna Park management - bastages.

No injuries myself, didnt see any fights, didnt even drink a great deal, was a great night for extreme headbangers!

Fri 9 Nov 07, and it is raining here on and off.

The rain is extremely welcome in all but the very coastal fringe areas, right around the country here.
