anyone follow the Cricket World Cup?

i been watching it, and i kind of like it. i enjoy baseball, but it ends too quickly. cricket world cup is 1 day long. monday, i manage to catch the 2nd half of the game. after the lunch break. i think 9pm-2am. good stuff.

it's amazing stuff. they score some runs. 250 is so-so 300 is where you want to be. they only play 50 overs, each over consist of 6 balls.

I'd just like to point out that the key word in this sentence that prooves you are deranged is "only."

i'm beginning to get confuse. this past weekend they played 43 overs. i'm not sure if they play less & less as the world cup progress. any cricket expert out there, want to clue me in?

If the whole team gets 'out' your innings is finished regardless of the number of overs. Also sometimes, fairly rarely, if the weather is particularly nasty at the right time the duration of the game may be cut back by any number of overs for both teams.

thanks for clarification

one other questions. so if your team gets my team out in only 43 overs. does that mean you have to beat me within 43 over or do you still have 50 overs?

You still get the full 50.
