Dual Wield?

Postby rylan » Tue Nov 18, 2003 3:20 am

Can someone check the dual wield skill notch chance, and consider increasing it? I don't know how it is for rangers, but its insanely slow and almost impossible to notch for other classes. I've gotten one (1) dual wield notch on my warrior after using it for days of ptime, none on my bard, and this seems to be in line with what I've heard from other people for inability to notch this skill.

for many years, I have been led to believe that warrior's dual wield is supposed to suck. I have however, seen various debates on the issue, claiming that warriors, being fighters, should of course be much better at it, not as good as rogue/ranger, but better than they are. *shrug*

i thought 2h was the primary means for a warrior to increase damage output.

however 2h got nerfed to hell, so I guess that makes dual wield the skill of the month.

was just thinking, remember mithril axe? 4d5 4/5

back then non monk melee damage was 100% about dual wielding these babies.

then they got nerfed all to hell rangers cried warriors went 2h. Enter the era of twilight windsong, and 1h weapons that proc frequently or in the off hand.

then came shieldblock and 2hdrs became toys that you never got to use and melee damage continued into the toilet with significant downgrades to procs. Later archery was impd but missile shield and zone escalation made it moot (because there are so many mages in every zone).

now 2hdrs got hosed and 1hrs are approaching 2h stats.

I don't believe that damage output has much to do with your damroll as it does to your weapon dice and probably more importantly your skills and most importantly to the number of attacks you get.

So why do you keep farking with all the weapons and dam roll?
