This is non-standard behaviour, right? :-)

Spells seem to hit after the message, so they can still perform actions in the next run like bashing.

However, it looks like at least 2 combat rounds have taken place: I blind, he hits, I flee, and return. Then he bashes me. I had a similar occurance happen later, where I blinded a mob, fled, invised myself, rememed, went to blind another mob, fled the second mob into the first mob, and it hit me, only to ignore me when I fled and came back in.

Dont ask me to explain how its possible coding wise, cuz i cant, but...

Be careful blinding stuff, if you are real fast, you can blind flee and run back in before the game registers the change and the mob will hit you. Happens all the time to me. Other spells (namely effect spells, like dscales and stone) have the same issue. If its a tricky place, just take a half a second pause before re-entering if possible, this always ensures the spell has taken ahold.

Much like the cheese you eat, cheese spells require a certain amount of time to age before they're at their tastiest.

It's all about the timing. When you walk out from a switch, do you immediately walk back in? No. Same with many spell effects.

My understanding of how muds in general (and specifically this mud) manage your status is on a tick based system. Each tick you gain a certain amount of health back, and it can also take a tick for certain things to register (ie: dispelling an Embody and then waiting for it to actually fall off).

In this case, the blind landed, but rather than instantaneously being effected, the mob had a tick where he could still see.. then the blind took effect.

Of course, there are actually a rather broad range of tick lengths and checks that happen (some paralyzes land instantly, others like earthblood can seem really wonky) but I'd say blind falls under the "actually takes effect when the game ticks" category.

Stacked commands :) He lagged from the kill command, you came in just in time for the bash command to pull through. It's happened to mobs fleeing from me before :)
Nerox tells you 'Good deal, the other tanks I have don't wanna do it, and since your my special suicidal tank i figure you don't mind one bit!'

Alurissi tells you 'aren't you susposed to get sick or something and not beable to make tia so i can go? :P'
